Upcoming Nissan Terrano Mid-Size SUV's Interiors Spied

Nissan’s upcoming C-segment SUV has been spotted with its cabin exposed for the first time. The spy shots reveal a mid-spec test mule that provides a clear look at the dashboard layout, steering setup, and seating configuration. The SUV will sit above the Magnite in Nissan’s India line-up and is expected to rival established mid-size players when it launches.
The interior shows a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, more advanced than those on the Magnite. A cruise control stalk is positioned behind the wheel, pointing to highway-friendly features even on mid-level trims.
The dashboard uses manual climate control with rotary knobs, confirming this is a mid-spec variant. Even so, a digital instrument cluster is present, suggesting Nissan may offer modern displays across most trims.
Height-adjustable driver’s seating is also visible, aimed at improving daily usability. The dashboard layout itself is angled towards the driver, keeping controls and screens within reach and creating a practical, driver-focused design.
Higher trims are expected to bring a large touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Features like ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera are also likely for the top end.
The presence of a digital cluster on a mid-spec mule hints that Nissan could spread advanced displays through the line-up, rather than reserving them for premium buyers.
The new SUV is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform, which will also support the next-generation Renault Duster. While the two vehicles will share their underpinnings, Nissan is working on distinct styling and interior layouts to avoid overlap.
Production will take place at the Alliance plant in Chennai, serving both local and export demand. Engine options are expected to include naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol units, paired with manual and automatic transmissions.
The Terrano will be positioned above the Duster in terms of features and pricing. This way, Nissan can target a slightly different buyer profile while leaving space for its Renault counterpart.
Key rivals will include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. In this segment, customers weigh feature lists, interior quality, pricing, and after-sales support heavily before making a choice. The spy images suggest Nissan is aiming to meet these expectations with a focus on perceived quality and thoughtful ergonomics.
While this round of testing focused on interiors, earlier teasers revealed styling influenced by the larger Nissan Patrol. L-shaped LED daytime running lights with chrome accents, a horizontal grille, and squared proportions give the SUV a distinctive look.
The test mule was fitted with 225/60 R17 tyres, which should offer a balance between stance and comfort. A rear spoiler and wiper underline the practical touches.
Nissan has confirmed an early 2026 launch, with a showcasing possibly in late 2025. The extended timeline allows for more testing and validation before mass production at the Chennai facility.
The Terrano will arrive after Nissan’s new B-segment MPV, expanding the brand’s portfolio. If priced competitively and backed by modern features, the SUV could mark an important return for Nissan in a space it has been absent from in recent years.
