Nissan To Launch 4 New Cars In India Over The Next 2 Years: Details

Nissan recently announced that they are planning to expand their lineup in the Indian market. In the next two years, they have big plans for the Indian market and are preparing to launch not one but four new products. With the launch of these products, the Japanese car manufacturer aims to assure customers in our market. These are the four products that Nissan will be launching in the next two years.
Magnite is currently the only product sold by Nissan in India. During a presentation, the manufacturer shared its plan to launch an affordable electric vehicle in the market. While there is no confirmation, there are high chances that the upcoming affordable EV from Nissan will be the Magnite EV.
Magnite is currently the most affordable model from Nissan and is fairly popular among the masses. We believe bringing an electric version of the Magnite makes more sense than launching a small electric hatchback, especially at a time when demand for electric SUVs is on the rise. The affordable EV is expected to be launched in the next couple of years.
In an official statement, Nissan recently shared its plans to launch a brand-new MPV in the affordable segment. It would be a B-segment 7-seater MPV, and the design of the concept released looks inspired by the Renault Triber, which is already on sale in the market. In fact, it would use the same platform as the Triber and would be manufactured at their facility in Chennai.
The B-SUV would use the same engine and transmission options available with the Triber. It would be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, offered with both a manual and an AMT gearbox option. This model would be launched in the Indian market in FY25.
The next product that Nissan plans to launch is an SUV that will rival the Hyundai Creta in the segment. The SUV is actually based on the same platform as the Renault Duster, which is scheduled to be launched in our market soon.
The SUV is likely to feature an exterior design inspired by the Nissan Patrol, an iconic model. There is no guarantee that Nissan will call its upcoming SUV the Terrano, as it was not a particularly popular SUV in our market originally.
The Creta-rivaling SUV from Nissan is likely to get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 154 PS and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 7-speed DCT gearbox internationally. There is no confirmation yet on whether a manual transmission will be offered for the lower variants. It is expected to be launched in FY26.
Just like Renault, Nissan also has plans to launch a bigger, 7-seater version of the Terrano in the market. It would essentially be a 7-seater version of the regular 5-seater SUV that Nissan plans to launch in FY26.
The 7-seater SUV might get minor cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the 5-seater model. It might also have longer rear overhangs to increase the overall length of the vehicle while maintaining the same wheelbase.
It is likely to be powered by the same engine as Nissan’s 5-seater SUV and is expected to be launched soon after the 5-seater Terrano.
