A concept SUV that has been making a lot of noise at Tata Motors’ pavilion for the last couple of years is the Sierra. When they first unveiled the Sierra concept, they had no intention of putting it into production. However, when they received an overwhelming response from customers, they decided to move forward with the production of the concept Sierra. The Sierra EV has been a showstopper at Tata’s pavilion ever since. Last year, we saw an almost production-ready version of the Sierra. This time, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, we have the production-ready version of the Sierra, which is likely to go on sale in India later this year.

The Tata Sierra will be launched in the market in both ICE and EV versions. The Sierra showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo looks very similar to the concept we saw last year. Tata is expected to launch the electric version of the Sierra first, with the ICE version following later. The SUV unveiled at the Expo this year is the ICE version.

The SUV features a design heavily inspired by the original Sierra SUV. The showcased Sierra SUV comes in a very unique yellow shade. The front features a welcoming LED bar with dual-function LED DRLs on both ends. There is a thick black grille at the front with “Sierra” lettering on it.

The headlamps are designed in such a manner that they appear to be a part of the grille. Vertically stacked LED fog lamps are present on the bumper, which itself has a muscular design. The side profile of the Sierra is what sets it apart from other Tata models in the market. It is an extremely boxy SUV with a dual-tone design element inspired by the original Sierra.

There are flush door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, and blacked-out window frames that enhance the overall look. The Sierra gets a chopped-off, rear-like design that appears almost 90 degrees.

There is an integrated roof spoiler, Tata logo, long LED connecting bar, and a Sierra badge on the tailgate. The rear bumper of the SUV has also been designed to give it a rugged appearance.

The interior of the Sierra is also getting a fresh design. It seems Tata will be offering a three-screen setup for the Sierra. There will be two infotainment screens on the dashboard, along with a fully digital instrument cluster. The SUV is likely to feature Tata’s new steering wheel and additional amenities like a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, leatherette upholstery, seat ventilation, and more.

As mentioned above, the SUV will be offered in both ICE and EV forms. The ICE version of the Sierra will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is likely to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit, while the diesel version will continue with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine used in the Harrier and Safari.

Tata will offer both manual and automatic transmission options with the Sierra. The Sierra EV is likely to feature the same battery pack as the Harrier EV and is expected to provide a range of over 500 km. Tata is anticipated to launch the Sierra in the second half of 2025 or early 2026.
