Renault Duster 7-Seat SUV Spied Testing: Coming To India in 2025

India is buzzing with excitement for the launch of the all-new Renault Duster. This time around it has been reported that the French automaker will be launching the new Duster with a 7-seater layout as well. Recently, a test mule of this upcoming SUV was spotted testing internationally. As per the reports, the new Renault Duster 5 and 7-seater versions could likely be offered in the Indian market by 2025.
The recent spy shots of the Renault Duster 7-seater have come courtesy of The Indian Motorheads from Instagram. Despite heavy camouflage, we can note several design details of this upcoming SUV. It can be observed that it will get the Renault Bigster style front end. It will come with a thick front grille with four individual slots.
It can be noted the headlights will be all-LED units with LED DRLs integrated into them. Additionally, there is a huge air dam in the middle of the lower front bumper. Apart from this, not much of the bumper’s design details can be noted because of the camouflage.
Moving on to the side profile, we can note that the silhouette of the vehicle remains similar to the Duster’s 5-seater model. It will have thick wheel arches and massive windows. The Duster 7-seater will come with pillar-mounted door handles.
Apart from this, we can note that it will come equipped with Y-shaped alloy wheels. Although these recent spy pics do not show the rear of the seven-seater Duster, it will come with thick LED taillamps.
The three-row Duster is expected to feature the same interior as the 5-seater model. However, it will get an increase in its length by 100-150mm to accommodate the additional seating. Apart from the additional row of seats, the new Duster 7-seater will get the same double-layer dashboard with shades of light and dark grey.
The center console will be slightly angled, and more expensive variants will come with two digital screens: a 7-inch screen for driver information and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment functions. It will also be getting automatic climate control.
The new Renault Duster 7-seater, just like the 5-seater version, is expected to be offered only with petrol powertrain options. These include a 1.6L hybrid petrol engine, a 1.2L hybrid petrol engine, and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, which will be available with LPG compatibility in some markets.
As for the launch timeline, it is being speculated that the Duster 7-seater will be coming to India around 2025. Once launched, it will be competing with the likes of other mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Kia Carens, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XU700. In terms of pricing, experts have anticipated the pricing to be around Rs. 14-18 lakh (ex-showroom).
It has been reported that along with Renault, its alliance partner Nissan is also planning to launch a similar SUV. As we know, it is planning to launch the five-seater Terrano based on the Duster. Similarly, it will also be launching a 7-seater SUV based on the Duster 7-seater.
