Exterior differences

First off, the vlogger starts by comparing the exterior design and dimensions of the two SUVs. He mentions that the Duster does not get a lot of Starkle plastic (Dacia’s composite material that has 20% recycled plastic) on the rear portion. Meanwhile, the majority of the rear bumper of the Bigster has this material. Next, he talks about the departure angles of the two SUVs.

He states that the Duster has a very short rear overhang and has a departure angle of 36 degrees. Meanwhile, the Bigster has a departure angle of 25.9 degrees. Apart from this, the Bigster has a 43mm longer wheelbase as it is 227mm longer than the Duster. It is also taller by 94mm from the Duster. He then adds that the rear tailgate also sits much higher than the Duster.

Following this, he then moves to the front of these two SUVs. He states that the approach angle of the Duster is also better with a shorter overhang. The Duster has an approach angle of 31 degrees; on the other hand, the Bigster has an angle of 23.8 degrees. Apart from this, the front lower section grille is also different, and the alloy wheels on the Duster are 16 inches. Meanwhile, the ones on the Bigster are finished in dual tone and are 19-inch wheels.

Interior differences

Moving on to the interior, both SUVs get the same modern and minimalistic cabin with all the features. Both get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the middle, and just underneath it are the air vents with Y-shaped copper elements, automatic climate control system, wireless charger, multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 10.1-inch digital instrument gauge cluster. The only difference is that the field of view in the Bigster is bigger due to its greater height.

Powertrain options

When the Duster and Boreal (Bigster) arrive in India, most likely they both will share the same powertrain options. The first will be a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which will be capable of producing 128 bhp. There will most likely be an option of a 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain, which will be able to produce 153 bhp. Renault will not be offering a diesel engine, as it has been phased out completely by the brand.
