Skoda Auto India officially unveiled its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, and the most powerful version of the Octavia, the vRS 265, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The premium SUV from Skoda has been unveiled ahead of its official launch in the country later this year. Skoda has been testing the Kodiaq in India for a while and will officially launch the SUV in April or June this year. The Octavia will also be launched in the market later this year.

Skoda Kodiaq

The Skoda Kodiaq showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo is the second generation of the SUV. The SUV is based on the MQB platform and is slightly bigger than the previous-generation model. It comes with a revised front design featuring a signature butterfly grille, LED headlamps, U-shaped LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, and Skoda branding on the tailgate. The headlamp and tail lamp designs have been updated as part of the facelift.

Skoda offers premium features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ADAS, electrically adjustable seats, and more. The Kodiaq is available in both 5- and 7-seater configurations internationally, but in India, it is likely to be offered only as a 7-seater SUV.

Engine

The Skoda Kodiaq is available internationally with both petrol and diesel engine options. However, the Indian version will only get a petrol engine. It will use a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 190 PS. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, and the higher variants will offer a 4×4 option as well. With all these updates, the Skoda Kodiaq will be priced higher than the previous-generation model.

Skoda Octavia vRS 265

The Skoda Octavia has always been a popular sedan among enthusiasts in India and around the world. Skoda has consistently offered the performance version of this 4-door sedan to Indian customers. At the 2025 Auto Expo, Skoda unveiled the new-generation Octavia vRS 265, which is the most powerful version of this sedan manufactured by Skoda to date.

The exterior design of the Octavia vRS remains similar to the regular sedan, but updates have been made to the headlamps and tail lamps as part of the facelift. The 2025 Octavia vRS features LED matrix beam headlights and LED tail lights with welcome and goodbye animations.

The front grille has been blacked out and sports the vRS badge. The alloy wheels are different from the regular sedan, and the rear bumper has also been updated. The cabin features a black theme with red highlights in select areas. It boasts premium features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, a premium sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and more.

Engine

The Skoda Octavia vRS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 265 BHP and 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, allowing the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. The sedan is expected to be launched later this year, with an estimated price of around ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom).
