Aquaplaning Skoda Kushaq Flies Off Road And Falls Into Pond, Passengers Safe

Speeding on highways and city roads is dangerous and often leads to accidents. The risks of getting involved in an accident go up when it is raining. Here we have a video of a speeding Skoda Kushaq SUV on a highway that lost control while trying to overtake on a wet road. The SUV moved off the road and crashed into a pond right next to the highway. The whole accident was recorded by a CCTV camera and has gone viral on the internet.
The video seen here was shared by Nikhil Rana. It looks like the accident happened somewhere in South India. In this SUV, we can see that it has been raining in the area and the road is completely wet. It is a busy highway with a decent number of vehicles passing. A few seconds into the video, we see a white SUV speeding on the highway.
The SUV driver attempts to overtake the car in front, and in the process, the vehicle loses control. The car hits the divider, and the driver steers the car away from the divider to save the vehicle. According to the video, the SUV seen here is a Skoda Kushaq. The SUV driver steered the SUV away from the divider, and while trying to do so, the SUV nearly missed crashing into two other vehicles passing through the same highway.
The SUV lost control and went to the other side of the highway. It was driven at such a high speed that the SUV actually flew off the highway and crashed into a pond next to the highway. According to the video, four people were present in the car at the time of the accident. All of them were saved and were taken to a nearby hospital to treat minor injuries.
It looks like the water in the pond actually saved the lives of the driver and occupants. If the car had crashed into the rocky bottom or another vehicle on the road, the injuries might have been different. If the car had crashed into any stationary vehicle or even a tree, the injuries might have been fatal. This video is a great example that proves why one must never drive recklessly on highways.
The simple answer to this is aquaplaning. It happens when a thin layer of water forms between the tire and the road. When this happens, the tire, which is the only point of contact with the road, stops responding to steering feedback and the car loses control. The risk of aquaplaning increases as the speed of the vehicle increases.
You don’t have to hit a pool of water to experience aquaplaning. It can happen on wet roads if you are driving at high speed because the treads on the tire are not getting enough time to push the water out and maintain the grip.
If you ever find yourself in such a situation, the best thing to do is to take your foot off the accelerator. When the speed decreases, the car’s tires will once again come in contact with the road and you will regain control. Do not panic and try to steer the car away from any obstacle, as the steering won’t respond if the speed is too high. Also, check the condition of your car tires before the monsoon season.
