Skoda Kylaq's First TVC With Ranveer Singh Now Playing [Video]

Skoda seems to be betting big on its latest offering in the Indian market- the Kylaq. In February, they roped in the popular Indian actor Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador for the sub-compact SUV, or as the manufacturer calls it, its first-ever 'brand superstar'. Weeks past the announcement, we now have the first TV commercial (TVC) of Skoda Kylaq starring Ranveer.
The TVC revolves around the dreams of bold, uncompromising Indian buyers. For people who pursue success on their own terms, without settling for the ordinary. The Kylaq is a tasteful blend of Indian ambitions and European engineering. The manufacturer has a fresh, consumer-first approach with the ad film. Ranveer Singh contributes to the commercial's dynamic energy with his charisma.
In the TVC, the actor is seen 'clearing the clouds of aspirations'- symbolic of driving to break barriers and reaching new heights. He also represents the spirit of perseverance and fearless ambition. The film puts forward a catchy punch line for the Kylaq- For an India that's chasing its dreams, this is the drive of your dreams... Introducing the all new Skoda Kylaq- Own your dream...
Skoda launched the Kylaq in India in December 2024. It comes in four broad trims- Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. The price starts at 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for the range-topping variant.
The Kylaq is the first model to feature Skoda's "Modern Solid" design philosophy. In its overall design, the Kylaq resembles the Kushaq, but stands under the 3,995 mm mark in length. Key highlights of this design are a slimmer Skoda grille, split headlamps, pronounced bonnet creases, and a two-tone bumper with an aluminium-finished skid plate.
The cabin is good-looking and practical. The top-spec comes with features like a 10-inch touchscreen with an updated OS, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, and a single-pane sunroof. Unlike any of its rivals, both the front seats are powered, on the Kylaq.
Despite its compact proportions, the sub-compact SUV offers ample knee room at the rear, even for taller passengers. The rear seat gets a 60:40 split design and the SUV's boot capacity stands at 446 liters. A cooled glovebox, rear armrest, three-point seatbelts, and a fold-down armrest are some of the other notable features.
The Kylaq is underpinned by the same MQB A0 IN platform as the Kushaq and Slavia. This architecture has high degrees of localisation gone into it. It is safe and offers good structural rigidity as well.
The Kushaq and Slavia have two engine options available: 1.0L TSI and 1.5 TSI. The smaller powertrain makes its way to the Kylaq. The 1.0L, four cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 115 hp and 178 Nm- the same state of tune as what you see on the Kushaq. It can be had with 6-speed manual and 6 speed automatic (6AT) transmissions.
Skoda claims the Kylaq to be able to do the 0-100 kph run in just 10.5 seconds. The suspension has been tuned for a comfortable and balanced ride. The safety suite consists of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX mounts. ADAS features are, however, not offered...
