Skoda Kylaq Signature vs Signature Plus: Variant Comparison [Video]

Skoda has launched the Kylaq SUV in 4 different variants- Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige. The Prestige is the top-spec variant while the Classic is the entry point. The Classic has an ex-showroom price of ₹7.89 lakh. Many of you might feel this to be underequipped. The Signature and Signature Plus variants offer ample value and kit levels. A direct comparison between the Signature and Signature Plus has been portrayed in a video shared on the YouTube channel ‘Fuel Injected’.
The video starts by showing both the variants side by side- Signature and Signature Plus. The Signature is the lower spec among the two and has an ex-showroom price of 9.59 lakh. This is also the trim in which you get the choice of an automatic transmission as well. The Kylaq Signature AT costs 10.59 lakh before taxes.
The Signature Plus manual would cost 11.40 lakh, ex-showroom, and the automatic would cost a lakh more- 12.40 lakh. The price difference between corresponding variants (for example Signature AT and Signature Plus AT) is 1.81 lakh. This calls for a careful examination to find out what differs between these variants.
The front design remains the same with full LED headlamps and DRLs. On the side, both cars get the same alloy wheels (R16). However, the Signature trim comes with body-coloured door handles, while the Signature Plus gets an additional Chrome garnish on these handles. Further, Signature gets normal antenna while the higher variant comes with Shark Fin antenna.
At the rear, the Signature Plus gets a rear camera, which the lower variant misses out on, and comes with just sensors instead. Save for these, almost everything remains the same on both variants. Even the boot space and parcel tray remain unchanged.
In Signature Plus, however, you get 60:40 split design for the rear seat, while the Signature variant gets a flat single bench. The upholstery too is slightly different. The Signature’s upholstery feels slightly more basic in comparison. It also misses out on the rear armrest and rear reading lamps. You get rear AC vents and charging points though. The rear seat, as a matter of fact, is slightly upright.
Both variants get the same keyfob. The Signature, however, does not get request sensors, while the other variant gets these on both sides. A few other features also differ between the two. The Signature does not get electric auto fold for the ORVMs or auto headlamps. The two-spoke steering is not leather-wrapped. It, however, has a good-to-touch finish to itself.
You get features like 4 power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, manually dimming IRVM and more. The instrument cluster is an analogue unit with an integrated digital MID screen. The infotainment system is a (nearly) 7-inch unit with wired Apple Carplay and Android Auto. In terms of safety, the Signature misses out on Hill Hold. All other safety tech are the same.
Now let’s come to the Signature Plus variant. It gets a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, auto folding mirrors, auto headlamps, push-button start/stop ( not available in the Signature variant), leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an automatic climate control (the lower variant gets a manual unit). Even on the Signature Plus variant, the IRVM gets manual dimming. It also misses out on the sunroof. This variant comes with Hill Hold and Hill Start Assist.
Now that you know the difference between these variants, which one to buy is a call that you should confidently take, depending on personal preferences and requirements.
