Skoda Kylaq Sub-4 Meter SUV: Fresh Spyshots Emerge Ahead Of Official Unveil

Skoda’s next launch in the Indian market is the Kylaq sub-4 meter SUV. This is a made-in-India SUV, and by now, we have an idea of what to expect from the SUV in terms of design and features. Skoda will officially launch the Kylaq on November 6, and it looks like the brand is currently doing the final rounds of testing on the SUV. A fully camouflaged version of the Skoda Kylaq was recently spotted on the road as part of testing ahead of the launch.
The recently surfaced spy pictures have been shared by CarDekho on their website. We get to see the rear of the upcoming SUV in this new set of images. The SUV is completely camouflaged, and we can only see parts of the LED tail lamps. When launched, the Skoda Kylaq will be the most affordable Skoda product in their lineup. It’ll sit below the Kushaq SUV.
In terms of exterior, we expect Skoda to go with a design similar to other Skoda SUVs on sale. There will be Skoda’s signature butterfly grille, sleek-looking headlamps with LED projectors, 17-inch alloy wheels on the top-end variant, LED tail lamps, rear defogger, and wiper. The SUV is expected to look like a smaller version of the Kushaq.
The Skoda Kylaq is 3,995 mm long and has a ground clearance of 189 mm. The SUV also has a wheelbase of 2,566 mm. The Skoda Kylaq is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. This is the same platform already used on cars like the Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Taigun. We have not seen many pictures or spy videos of the interior of the Kylaq.
However, we expect it to look similar to the Kushaq. The SUV will feature a 10.1-inch floating-type touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a ventilation feature for the front seats, a 360-degree camera, and more.
Skoda will also offer six airbags, ABS, EBD, and other safety features with the Kylaq. The Skoda Kylaq will compete with cars like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon in the segment. Skoda has mentioned in the past that there is a high level of localization in the Kylaq, which might indicate that the manufacturer aims to price the SUV competitively.
The Skoda Kylaq will be offered with a single engine option: a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that generates 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
The sub-4 meter SUV segment is something you would only find in India. Manufacturers are forced to make their vehicles compact just for tax benefits, requiring significant investment in development and research. These reasons initially made Volkswagen reluctant to enter this segment.
However, lately, we have come across reports that we will see Volkswagen’s sub-4 meter SUV in 2026. It will be based on the same platform as the Kylaq, with exterior design changes, while remaining mechanically the same.
