Škoda Octavia RS Pre-bookings To Commence From October 6
After keeping Indian automotive enthusiasts on their toes for a long time, the Czech carmaker Škoda Auto India has finally announced the date of commencement of pre-bookings for its upcoming sports sedan, the Octavia RS. The company has announced that the Octavia RS pre-bookings will commence on October 6th. Interested buyers will only be able to reserve one by visiting the brand's official website.

The upcoming Škoda Octavia RS will be brought to the Indian market via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. This high-performance sedan is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 50 lakh, which is significantly higher than the standard Octavia sedan sold in India. It is believed that the official launch might take place around Diwali.
What's so special about the Octavia RS?
For those who may be wondering, what is so special about the Octavia RS that it can command such a heavy price tag? Well, the answer is that it will come equipped with the 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine (the same engine as the Volkswagen Golf GTI).
It will be capable of producing 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. In order to enhance the handling of this sedan, it gets variable-ratio progressive steering and lowered sport suspension.
Exterior and interior design
In terms of design, the Škoda Octavia RS looks a lot more aggressive and sport-focused than the standard model. At the front, it will get a blacked-out butterfly grille with an RS badge and a redesigned front bumper. It will also get LED headlights with boomerang-shaped DRLs and animated turn indicators, standard 18-inch and optional 19-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
On the inside, the Octavia RS will boast a completely black interior with black leather seats and door panels. It will also get sporty red contrast stitching, a black headliner, and sports bucket seats with integrated headrests. Additionally, the sedan will also come with a virtual cockpit with RS-specific graphics and an RS-themed infotainment system as well.
The Škoda RS badge stands for Rally Sport, and it symbolizes the brand's motorsport heritage. Its first road-going RS product was launched back in 2000. As for the Indian market, the first RS product—the Octavia RS—was launched back in 2004. Then, in 2017, the Octavia RS 230, and in 2019, the Octavia RS 245 were launched. Apart from the upcoming Octavia RS this year, the company could also be launching the Kodiaq RS as well.
