Skoda Cars And SUVs Sold In India: Full Chart That Shows What's E20 Petrol Compliant, What's Not

Amid the chaos that E20 fuel has created among car owners, manufacturers have started coming forward with circulars and updates on which of their models are compatible with the current fuel and which are not. Czech car manufacturer Skoda has now come forward with a chart that shows all their models that are compatible with E20 petrol and the models that are not.
The chart is probably something that is being circulated among dealerships because there has been a rise in the number of queries recently. Many customers who have bought a car are not sure whether their car is compatible with E20 fuel or not. Here in this chart, we have the list of cars and the engine options that are compatible and not compatible with E20 fuel.
The compact SUV sold in the market after April 1, 2023, is certified as compatible with E20 fuel and information regarding the same is available in the user manual. Similarly, the sedan Slavia sold after April 1, 2023, is also E20 compatible and information for the same is available in the user manual. Both these models sold before the above-mentioned date are also E20 compliant.
The sub-4 meter SUV is the latest Skoda product for India and this car was launched in the market last year. This SUV is also compatible with E20 fuel and the owner’s manual has information related to the same.
Now, if you are a customer who owns one of these models from this period and are reaching out to a Skoda dealership or customer care regarding the E20 confusion, you will get a standard reply which will say:
“Dear Mr/Ms. XX,
Thank you for writing to us!
Please note that the components of your car bearing regn No: "(Insert Regn number)" "(Insert Model)" with "(Insert Engine type)" are compatible with E20 fuel. This information is given in your owner's manual.”
The BS6 1.0 Litre MPI and 1.0 Litre TSI engine options of the Skoda Rapid manufactured from April 1, 2020, till March 31, 2023, are E20 compatible.
The flagship SUV from the manufacturer, manufactured from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2023, is also compatible with E20 fuel. The BS6 Phase 2 versions of this SUV that were sold after April 1, 2023, are also E20 compatible.
Both the premium sedan and its performance version manufactured from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2023, are E20 compatible.
Similarly, the Karoq which was available in the Indian market in limited numbers is also E20 compatible. It is applicable to cars sold from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2023.
The BS6 Phase 1 and Phase 2 versions of the luxury sedan from Skoda that were sold before and after April 1, 2023, are E20 compatible.
For these customers, the standard reply from Skoda would be:
“Dear Mr/Ms. XX,
Thank you for writing to us! Please note that the components of your car bearing regn No: "(Insert Regn number)" "(Insert Model)" with "(Insert Engine type)" are also compatible with E20 fuel.
Use of E20 fuel does not affect the warranty benefits applicable to your vehicle.
Standard warranty guidelines apply”
Skoda Rapid sedan and Fabia hatchback that were sold in the market before April 1, 2020, were BS4 compliant vehicles. Sadly, these vehicles have not been evaluated for E20 compatibility. This applies to the petrol versions only.
Similarly, the BS4 Skoda Octavia, Laura, and Superb sedans that were sold in the market before April 1, 2020, were also not evaluated for E20 compatibility.
While the manufacturer says that they have not tested these for E20 fuel, they mention in the screenshot that these cars are compatible with E10 fuel.
If you own one of these vehicles from this time period, you will receive a standard reply that says:
“Dear Mr/Ms. XX,
Thank you for writing to us! Please note, your car bearing regn No: "(Insert Regn number)" "(Insert Model)" with "(Insert Engine type)", sold in MM/YY, is designed to run on Petrol/E10. Its components are not evaluated for compatibility with E20 fuel.
Standard warranty guidelines apply”
The screenshot that is now circulating on the internet looks more like a presentation slide with frequently asked questions. It looks like Skoda is training their staff at dealerships across the nation so that they are ready with answers if customers come with complaints or queries.
