2 New High Performance Skodas Launching Soon: Details

Czech automaker Skoda India is about to launch two new sporty and fast cars that will be targeted toward enthusiasts. These models will be the latest-generation Skoda Octavia RS and the Kodiaq RS. Both of these performance-oriented vehicles will get a much more powerful 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Along with it, the exterior and interior will get RS-specific design cues as well, which will add to the sporty nature of these high-performance machines.

Skoda Octavia RS

The first of the two fast cars that Skoda will be launching soon in India will be the Octavia RS. This particular model is the fastest and the most expensive iteration of the Octavia D-segment sedan. On the outside, the Octavia RS features a bold new design with a much more aggressive-looking front fascia.

It gets a set of LED headlights, which will also come with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The Octavia RS also gets a new blacked-out signature “Butterfly” grille with the RS badge on the right corner. Adding to the aggressive design are the redesigned front and rear bumpers, which get a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and a diffuser.

On the side profile, the sedan features a set of massive 19-inch alloy wheels, which are specific to the RS variant of the Octavia. Adding to the overall aesthetics is a set of red-painted brake calipers. Other features of the Octavia RS include LED matrix beam headlights and LED rear lights with animated turn indicators.

Moving on to the interior, the Skoda Octavia RS will come equipped with an all-black interior. Its highlights include black seats and door panels. Also, it will come with red contrasting stitching and a black headliner. The Octavia RS also gets sports front seats with integrated headrests, and its infotainment system and virtual cockpit both get RS-specific graphics.

Skoda Kodiaq RS

In addition to the Octavia RS, Skoda India will also launch the most powerful iteration of its full-size SUV, the Kodiaq. The upcoming Kodiaq RS, like the Octavia RS, will feature a much more aggressive and sharper-looking exterior design. It will also get the same blacked-out treatment for the “Butterfly” grille and will come with edgier front and rear bumpers.

The Kodiaq RS also gets bigger 20-inch diamond-cut directional alloy wheels, which add to the sporty appeal of this SUV.

It also gets the same LED matrix beam headlights and LED taillights with animated turn indicators. Apart from these, on the inside, the Kodiaq RS will also get black seats with integrated headrests, contrasting red stitching, and RS graphics for the infotainment system and virtual cockpit.

Skoda Octavia RS and Kodiaq RS: Powertrain

These RS siblings will come equipped with the same 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol motor. This high-performance motor is capable of producing an impressive 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. As for transmission, they both get a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Along with it, both cars get variable-ratio progressive steering as standard, and the Octavia RS comes with a lowered sports suspension.

For those who may not be aware, the RS badge stands for “Rally Sport” and has been associated with Skoda for over 50 years. As for the production models, it was first featured in 2000. Back in 2022, the Enyaq RS and Enyaq RS Coupé (all-electric models) were added to the RS family.
