Skoda And Volkswagen To Launch 10 New Cars In The Next 2 Years

Skoda Auto and Volkswagen India are embarking on an aggressive product cadence, planning seven new and refreshed models over the next 18 months. This strategy aims to reinforce their foothold in India's rapidly evolving market, targeting both volume and premium segments with facelifts, new petrol-powered models and electrics.
Skoda leads with the Octavia facelift scheduled for release in October 2025. Prices are pegged between ₹35 lakh and ₹40 lakh. The updated exterior sports Matrix LED headlights on Suite and Sportline trims, a reshaped grille with vertical slats, and redesigned front/rear bumpers.
Inside, a larger 13-inch touchscreen replaces the 10-inch unit, complemented by a new 10.25-inch digital driver display. The vRS variant retains its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine but achieves a quicker 0–100 km/h sprint of 6.4 seconds thanks to launch-control software.
The Kushaq facelift follows as Skoda's volume-driver in the compact SUV segment. Early spy shots reveal new LED projector headlights with dynamic indicators, C-shaped taillights and a refreshed grille with chrome accents.
Top Kushaq trims will gain a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and traffic-jam assist. Powertrains—1.0 litre and 1.5 litre turbo-petrol engines—remain, though an 8-speed automatic gearbox may replace the current 6-speed DSG on the 1.0-litre unit.
Volkswagen will also launch a facelifted Taigun compact SUV, which will share many of its new features with the facelifted Skoda Kushaq.
Volkswagen's marquee launch is the Tayron seven-seater SUV, slated for late 2025 with an estimated price of ₹50 lakh. Built on the MQB A2 platform, it shares its 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine (204 bhp/320 Nm) and 7-speed DSG with the Tiguan R-Line but adds third-row seating for families.
Interior highlights include a 15-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, ventilated massaging front seats, three-zone climate control and a 700 W Harman Kardon audio system. Safety kit comprises nine airbags, 360° camera and autonomous parking assist.
Skoda's electric push will commence with the Elroq, a compact EV launching in December 2025 priced between ₹25 lakh and ₹35 lakh. It offers two battery options: 52 kWh (range 280 km) and 77 kWh (range 360 km). The Elroq features rapid DC charging at up to 100 kW, replenishing 10–80 per cent in 30 minutes, and Level 2 ADAS across all trims.
Additional models in the pipeline include a Slavia facelift mirroring Kushaq's styling updates, and the facelifted Volkswagen Virtus, which happens to be India's best selling full size sedan.
Other new cars lined up for launch include the performance-oriented Octavia RS, and the electric Enyaq flagship expected in mid-2026.
The Slavia refresh will introduce connected LED DRLs, new alloy designs and enhanced materials inside, while retaining the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine options.
Another key volume bagger coming from the Skoda-VW group is Volkswagen's sub-4 meter version of the Skoda Kylaq. The new Volkswagen sub-4 meter compact SUV is expected to double sales of the brand in India, just like it did for Skoda.
Market positioning varies across segments: the Octavia and Tayron target premium buyers seeking European build quality; the Kushaq facelift and Elroq cater to mainstream buyers prioritising features and electrification; while the Slavia and Elroq establish a platform for future SUVs within Skoda's portfolio. Volkswagen's dual-brand strategy, sharing manufacturing facilities and powertrains, helps spread R&D costs while preserving distinct identities.
