Tata Motors recently started commencing deliveries of their newest electric vehicle- the Curvv.EV. The manufacturer has now honoured Olympic medalist P.R. Sreejesh by gifting him an all-electric Curvv. Tata recently opened dedicated EV stores in Kochi. Sreejesh received his new EV from one of these facilities. The Indian field hockey goalkeeper played a key role in the team’s wins in the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. He could save 50 out of 62 shots attempted by the opposite teams, marking his excellence in the sport.

Sreejesh took delivery of the vehicle along with his family. Tata Motors has shared a video of the occasion on its social media handles. It shows him walking into the showroom, along with his family. He can be seen receiving the car and further commenting on it. Sreejesh seems to be impressed by the Curvv.EV’s design, boot space and performance.

The Olympian talks about how he decided to own an EV. He was impressed by how fast the Curvv.EV accelerates, how mature it feels around corners and the smooth, silent ride inside. His decision to ‘go the EV way’ also seems to have been influenced by a desire to go Green and easy on the nature around.

The celeb further says that his kids love sunroof and demanded it when the couple were on the lookout for a new car. The Curvv.EV has a large panoramic sunroof. Sreejesh further goes on to say that he bets big on the Curvv’s high safety standards.

The EV gifted to the Olympian is a top-spec 55 kWh variant wearing the ‘Virtual Sunrise’ colourway. Tata Motors offers two battery packs on the Curvv.EV: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The latter is the largest battery pack that the manufacturer has used on any of its EVs and is claimed to offer a range of up to 585 km per charge. The powertrain is capable of producing 165 hp and 215 Nm.

Tata Curvv.EV : Quick Overview

The Curvv.EV offers a comfortable interior, packed with features like an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a new-age Tata steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a large touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and automatic climate control. Visual similarities with the Nexon exist in cabin design.

The EV also offers safety features like Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, airbags, ABS, and ESC and is priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Stats indicate that people love the 55kWh version more than the other. The Curvv.EV has been garnering more bookings for its top-spec and higher variants. The EV has also managed to lure and convert potential Nexon EV buyers, with its increased appeal and overlapping prices of some variants.

India’s first Curvv.EV Ownership Review Is Now Live

The Curvv.Ev has managed to gather much attention with its striking design, long list of features and capable powertrain choices. Many, including popular figures, influencers and YouTubers have either bought it or booked one. Recently one of the early adopters of the Curvv, a YouTuber from Ludhiana, shared what appears to be India’s first Tata Curvv.Ev ownership review video. A YouTube channel named ‘Sameerfication’ shared content that showed the owner explaining the EV in detail, talking about why he bought it, his experience so far, and the pros and cons that he feels about it.

Chinese Batteries Incoming!

Currently both versions of the Curvv.EV (and other Tata EVs) use batteries sourced from Tata AutoComp. Reports suggest that Tata Motors could soon switch battery packs sourced from China’s Octillion Power systems. These will likely solve all the issues that Tata EV owners usually associate with the Nexon EV. The Curvv.EV will be the first to get Octillion batteries. Just the 45 kWh unit will be sourced from Octillion, and the 55 kWh unit is here to stay. The shift is expected to further improve the performance, usability and reliability of the Curvv.EV.
