This is the first time that the Altroz gets an overhaul since its market entry in 2020. The starting price of the new hatchback is Rs 6.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift gets a tasteful revision in styling. The new design has a strong focus on 'flushness'. The front fascia has been improved. It now comes with full-LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a revised bumper and an improved grille design. The body lines have been redrawn, and panels redesigned.

The new model also gets new 16-inch 'Drag-cut' wheels. Much like what you see on the Nexon and Curvv, the new Altroz also features flush-type door handles. At the rear, the Piano Black panel's design has been improved. The LED tail lamps are now connected by a full-width LED light bar. The rear bumper also sees minor revisions.

Interior Changes

The new car gets fresh trims and a different colourway inside. The dashboard now has a new design, which the manufacturer calls the 'Grand Prestigia'. Some areas of this design would remind you of the Curvv and the Nexon.

Tata Motors has made significant changes to the feature list as well. The new car gets a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, which can in fact, project maps and navigation in addition to the regular instrumentation data. The infotainment touchscreen is a new 10.25-inch HD unit by Harman. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is paired with an 8-speaker premium audio system and customisable audio modes- the AudioworX.

In addition to these, the facelift also gets a new steering wheel design, an air purifier, a single-pane sunroof, connected car tech, a wireless charger, climate control with rear AC vents, push-button start/stop, cruise control, auto-folding ORVMs, and revised ambient lighting.

You get touch-based climate control (HVAC) switches on the new Altroz. It even comes with an 'Xpress Cool' feature, which is a common sight on various other Tata Motors cars and SUVs as well. None of the Altroz's rivals offer this feature.

The car also gets a high-quality 360-degree camera for added safety and convenience. There is even a Blind Spot Monitor offered, which uses feed from the mirror-mounted cameras.

The seats have been redesigned and now have Beige upholstery. The new colourway makes the cabin feel pleasant and roomy.

Powertrain Choices

While many rivals like the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 have made a complete shift to petrol-only lineups, Tata Motors continues to offer multiple powertrains on the Altroz.

The facelift retains its predecessor's 1.5-litre diesel engine, producing 88.76 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. This powerhouse will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission only. 0-100 kph is done in just 12.8 seconds.

The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine is also on offer, with both manual and 6-speed DCT automatic options. Tata Motors has also added a new 5-speed AMT transmission to the lineup. (The new Altroz has become the only car in its segment to offer the choice of three gearboxes.) T

here’s also a CNG dual-fuel version that uses Tata’s twin-cylinder technology. This tech packs the fuel in two small, interconnected cylinders, which helps in better packaging and space management.

The carmaker has kept the 120 hp turbo-petrol engine reserved for the Racer variant.
