Tata Curvv Scores 5 Stars: Crash Test Safety Rating Leaked Before Official Launch

Tata Motors is all set to launch their all-new coupe SUV, Curvv, in the Indian market next month. The electric version of the Curvv is scheduled to be launched on August 7, 2024. It appears that the upcoming Curvv EV and the ICE version have already undergone crash tests at both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. According to sources, both the Curvv EV and Curvv ICE have scored 5-star ratings in these crash tests.
According to Carwale, the Curvv EV and ICE version have joined the lineup of 5-star-rated cars from Tata Motors even before their launch. Tata is currently the only manufacturer in the country with the most number of 5-star-rated cars in its lineup, including the Tata Nexon, Tata Punch, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Altroz, Harrier, and Safari. The upcoming Curvv will soon join them.
At the moment, there is no official confirmation about the crash test ratings, and it seems they might announce it on the day of the launch. Being a Tata product, we kind of expected the Curvv to perform well. Build quality is one of the major USPs of Tata cars, and it was expected to perform well.
Regarding the SUV, Tata Curvv is a coupe SUV, a design usually seen in expensive or premium cars. With Curvv, Tata plans to bring this design into the affordable segment. As mentioned above, Tata will be launching both ICE and EV versions of the Curvv in the market.
The SUV’s exterior design has already been revealed in several videos and images. It features a welcome LED bar, which has now become part of the brand identity. Additionally, the SUV has dual-function LED DRLs, projector LED headlamps on the bumper, and a large air dam on the lower part of the car.
The front design is a combination of the Nexon and Harrier. The side profile of the SUV reveals coupe-like design elements. The SUV also includes premium elements such as flush-fitting door handles, a blacked-out roof, dual-tone alloy wheels, an LED connecting bar at the rear with sleek LED tail lamps, and a muscular-looking bumper at both the front and rear.
The videos and teaser images that have surfaced online do not reveal the interior. We expect it to be similar to that seen in the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The Curvv will feature Tata’s all-new floating-type touchscreen infotainment system that runs on their new UI. The large, fully digital instrument cluster is also expected to be the same as in other Tata cars.
The SUV will offer other premium features like a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, and more. The ICE version of the SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
The petrol engine on the Curvv is expected to be an all-new 1.2-liter turbocharged unit. The diesel version will use the same 1.5-liter unit found in the Nexon and Altroz. The EV version of the Curvv is expected to offer a driving range of around 500 km.
