Tata Curvv And Curvv.EV To Get More Variants Before Year End

Tata Motors, in order to lure in more buyers for its newly launched Curvv and Curvv.ev coupe SUVs, is looking to expand its lineup with a few new variants. At the moment, the exact details of these new and upcoming variants have not been shared. However, it is believed that these upcoming variants could include Tata’s signature Dark Edition models as well as CNG models.
Presently, Tata Motors offers most of its cars with Dark Edition variants. These special edition models get blacked-out exteriors and interiors with a few unique details. Also, most of the time when the company launches a new model, a few months after the launch, it debuts the Dark Edition variants of the new cars.
Presently, the Curvv and Curvv.ev are not available in Dark Edition variations. So, most likely before the end of this year, the company will launch these in India. At the moment, Tata Motors offers the Curvv.ev in 7 variants and the Curvv ICE in 34 variants.
It is also believed that the company could be offering the Curvv ICE with a CNG kit as well. Most likely, it will be offering its efficient dual-cylinder kit, which fits underneath the trunk space in the rear. Curvv’s cousin Nexon is offered with the same setup.
The Tata Nexon iCNG comes equipped with a twin-cylinder setup with a total of 9 kg CNG capacity. It gets features such as direct start in CNG mode, seamless switching between petrol and CNG modes, a fire protection device, leak detection, and thermal incident protection.
Tata Motors currently offers the Curvv with two petrol and a diesel engine option. The first engine option is a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and the other is a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo petrol. Lastly, there is a 1.5-litre diesel as well. The 1.2 turbo petrol produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm and comes mated to 6MT and 7 DCT transmissions.
Meanwhile, the new 1.2 TGDi turbo petrol produces 122 bhp and 225 Nm and offers the choice of 6MT and DCT gearboxes. Finally, the diesel engine produces 116 bhp and 260 Nm. It can be had with the same set of gearboxes as the turbo-petrols.
As for the Tata Curvv.ev, the company offers it with two battery pack options. The first is the smaller 45 kWh battery pack, which comes with 148 bhp and 215 Nm of torque and a claimed range of 502 km. Meanwhile, the other is a 55 kWh battery pack, which comes with 165 bhp and 215 Nm of torque and a claimed range of 585 km on a single full charge.
The Tata Curvv coupe SUV is slowly gaining popularity in India. At the moment, the waiting period on the Curvv ICE variants is around three months. On the other hand, the Curvv.ev has a much shorter waiting period of around 4 weeks.
The Curvv ICE’s pricing starts at Rs 9.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 19 lakh. On the other hand, the Curvv.ev starts at Rs 17.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 21.99 lakh.
