Tata Curvv Dark Edition To Launch Soon [Video]

Almost all the Dark Edition cars from Tata Motors have been successful in India. For people who prefer the elegance of Black colour and dark-themed cars, the Dark edition makes for a perfect fit. Like the Nexon, Harrier and Safari, The Curvv is about to get a Dark Edition soon, as confirmed by a leaked dealer document. It will launch in the coming weeks, and will also be shown at the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), set to begin on March 22.
Like the other Dark edition models, the Curvv Dark will be finished in a shade of Black. It will likely have darkened Chrome embellishments on the outside, Black wheels and minimal use of Chrome. A speculative render has been embedded above, for reference.
The Dark edition is likely to be based on the top-spec Accomplished trim of the Curvv, and thus would come feature-packed. Like the regular Accomplished trim, it will get a large 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker premium audio system, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats and an ADAS suite.
There will be 6 airbags, electronic stability control, all four disc brakes, TPMS, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold as well.
The Dark edition will be available on both petrol and diesel variants of the Curvv. The SUV coupe is available with three engine options- two petrol and a diesel. Out of these, two will get the Dark edition. The 125 hp Hyperion petrol engine will power the Dark edition Curvv, alongside the 118 hp diesel.
Both automatic and manual gearboxes will be available. The 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol (Hyperion) and the 1.5 turbocharged diesel will both offer the choice of a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic units.
We expect the Dark Edition Cuvv to have a price premium of Rs 40,000 over the regular Accomplished variants of the SUV coupe. This is identical to what we have seen with the Nexon, Harrier and Safari Dark editions. The prices could fall in the range of 16.5 lakh-19.5 lakh for the petrol variants and the diesel variants could have their ex-showroom prices in the 16.8 lakh-19.6 lakh bracket.
Based on the new-age ATLAS platform, the Curvv's biggest highlight is the coupe-like design. It looks sporty and dynamic. Key exterior highlights include a sloping roofline, flush type door handles, all-LED lighting, Safari-like grille and fascia, Chrome embellishments, connected LED tail lights, stylish 18-inch alloy wheels and a powered tailgate with gesture control.
There are four trims available: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished. The interior gets a dual-tone burgundy and black colour way. Key highlights inside are a four-spoke steering wheel, 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, nine-speaker JBL sound system, and a wireless phone charger. The front seats get ventilation and the driver seat is electrically adjustable as well. The rear split seats with two-step recline function.
Tata Motors launched the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version of Curvv in September last year. At the time of writing this article, the ex-showroom price of this coupe starts at 9.99 lakh.
Tata Motors could soon launch the Dark edition on the Curvv EV as well. It is true that the electric coupe hasn't been able to live up to expectation in terms of monthly sales, despite being talked about a lot. The Dark edition could give the month volumes a sizeable boost. Tata has, however, been tight-lipped about Dark edition plans for the EV.
