Tata Curvv.EV Coupe Electric SUV To Offer 2 Battery Packs: Segment-Topping 600 Kms Range

Tata will soon be launching their new contender in the fiercely competitive mid-sized SUV segment in the form of the Curvv.EV. This segment is dominated by SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and some others. Multiple details about the Curvv.EV SUV coupe have already been revealed. However, the details about the EV version of the coupe SUV were still under the covers. Not any longer though.
News sources have revealed that the Tata Curvv EV will be offered with two battery pack options. The higher trims of the Curvv EV will get a bigger 55 kWh battery pack which will power a single electric motor. The lower trims are expected to get the 40.5 kWh battery pack borrowed from the Nexon.EV.
According to CarWale, the Curvv.EV could deliver an impressive driving range of 600 kilometer in a single charge. Additionally, the Coupe SUV will also get DC fast charging support which will charge the car in 10 minutes to attain a driving range of 100 kilometers.
Along with the EV version, Tata is also launching the Curvv with not one but three internal combustion engines – 1.2 liter 3 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and turbo petrol mills, and a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbo diesel. The prices of the same will be announced by the end of next month. It is expected that the price of the Curvv EV may start around Rs. 20 lakh and the top end trim may go up to Rs. 24 lakh.
Not many EVs are present in the Indian market in this price bracket. Hence, the Curvv EV will compete with the BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV 400, MG ZS EV. Multiple other cars such as the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, Toyota Urban Electric SUV, MG Cloud EV and the Honda Elevate EV are likely to be the future rivals of the new Tata electric coupe SUV.
The Tata Curvv will get a front fascia similar to that of the Nexon with connected LED bar and bumper mounted headlights. However, the side profile of this Coupe SUV is something which has never been seen in this price range.
The Curvv gets a Coupe SUV design which means it gets a sloping roofline for better aerodynamics and a SUV like ground clearance so that it can handle rough roads effectively. Additionally, the side profile will also get flush door handles.
The rear design will be similar to the front with a sleek connected LED taillight. Multiple walkaround videos of the Tata Curvv and the Tata Curvv EV are available on YouTube. Here’s one such video.
The Curvv will be fully loaded in terms of features as well. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (with features such as emergency braking, forward and rear collision warning, blind-spot detection, door open alert, rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assist, and traffic sign recognition), Ventilated front seats, 360 degree camera, disc brakes on all four wheels, powered front seats, electronic parking brake and touch based HVAC controls (similar to what seen in other Tata cars) have been confirmed. Additionally, the Curvv will get driver drowsiness detection which will make it the first car in its segment to offer this feature.
