Tata Curvv EV’s High Altitude Testing Video Released Ahead Of Official Launch
Tata is all set to launch its all-new product, the Curvv, in the Indian market. The Curvv is an upcoming SUV from the Indian car manufacturer, featuring a coupe-like design. It is based on the concept that Tata showcased a few years ago. Like many other Tata products, the production version of the Curvv closely resembles the concept showcased. Tata has now released a new video online where the upcoming Curvv EV is seen on high-altitude and rough terrain as part of the testing.
The video has been shared by Tata Motors on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see not one but two Tata Curvv EVs being driven on hilly or mountain roads. The video reveals that the SUV seen here is an EV. We get a glimpse of the instrument cluster, where we see the regeneration mode.
Similarly, the regen modes can be controlled using paddle shifters, which are shown clearly in the video. Additionally, we see two heavily camouflaged SUVs driving on the rough terrains of the Himalayas. In fact, the tests are being conducted at Wari La pass in Ladakh, which is around 17,427 feet above sea level.
The video shows that the Curvv is performing effortlessly in this terrain. As this is an electric car, the lack of oxygen is not an issue. The SUV has ample ground clearance and drives well both on and off the road. It was even driven in snowy conditions, indicating that the SUV is built to handle both extreme heat and cold weather.
The upcoming Curvv EV is expected to feature a split headlamp setup with LED lights. Like the Nexon and Harrier, the Curvv is also expected to have an LED welcome bar at the front. This would complement the dual-function LED DRLs, with the headlamps placed on the bumper. The front fascia of the Curvv is expected to be a mix of both the Nexon and Harrier.
We would get a completely closed grille with the Tata logo in the center. The alloy wheels with aero inserts to reduce drag and low-resistance tires are all expected to come with the EV. Tata will also provide premium features with the Curvv EV, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, and more.

Tata will be offering the Curvv in both ICE and EV forms. The teaser shown here is of the EV. The Curvv is expected to be launched in the market first and will be followed by the ICE version. The Curvv EV version is expected to offer a battery pack with a driving range of around 450-500 km.
The ICE version of the Curvv will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Tata is expected to offer a brand new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with both manual and automatic transmissions.
The diesel version will use the same 1.5-liter turbo unit seen in many other Tata models. The upcoming Curvv EV will be positioned above the Tata Nexon and below the Harrier. The launch of the Curvv EV is expected to happen sometime during the festive season.
