Tata is a brand known for building safe cars, and we have come across several cases that prove the same. Their latest product in the lineup, the Curvv, is no different. The SUV was recently sent to Bharat NCAP for a crash test along with the Nexon facelift, and both SUVs passed with flying colors. Both the Curvv, Curvv.ev, and the Nexon facelift, which was launched last year, earned 5-star ratings.

Tata Curvv

The top-end Accomplished+ variant of the Tata Curvv was sent for testing. It was the diesel manual version that was tested. The SUV coupe performed extremely well in the crash test, with the Curvv ICE variant scoring 29.5 points out of 32. The SUV scored 14.65/16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 14.85/16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test.

The Curvv ICE variant scored a total of 43.66 points out of 49, securing a 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection tests. From the video released by Bharat NCAP, we can see that the front of the SUV absorbed the impact well, and the pillars and shell of the vehicle remained intact.

Tata Curvv.ev

Next on the list is the Curvv.ev. The electric version of the Curvv was the first to hit the market. It is one of the most technologically advanced electric vehicles from Tata to date. Just like the ICE version, the top-end Empowered+ variant of the electric SUV was tested, featuring the larger 55 kWh battery pack.

The electric vehicle scored 15.66/16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.15/16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. The electric SUV offered decent protection to both front seat occupants, and the child occupant safety score was 44.83/49 points, which is higher than the ICE version. Like the ICE version, the EV performed well in the test, with the vehicle absorbing the impact while keeping the pillars and shell intact.

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon was the first SUV from Tata to score a 5-star rating at Global NCAP. The older versions of the sub-4 meter SUV went through various crash tests, but not the current version. Like all other Tata cars, the Nexon facelift also passed the crash test with a 5-star rating. Tata is offering 6 airbags as standard in the Nexon as well.
