It has been reported that some Tata dealerships have also unofficially started taking reservations for this SUV. So here are all the details of this new SUV and know what to expect.
The newly released teaser by Tata Motors for the Curvv SUV coupe highlights the design process of this unique product. In this teaser, the designer of the vehicle talks about how they have selected the materials and colors for this SUV. It also mentions the official unveiling date of 19th July.
Starting with the design, the main highlight of this SUV, as we all are aware, is its unique coupe-like rear end. However, at the front, the SUV-coupe gets a similar design as its sibling Nexon facelift. It gets sleek LED headlights set on the bumper and LED light bar running across the front.
It will also get flush-fitting door handles and new 17-inch alloy wheels with a complex design. At the rear, the Curvv features a sloping roofline and connected LED tail lamps. Overall, Tata Motors is aiming to target slightly premium buyers with the Curvv coupe SUV.
Moving on to the inside, the Tata Curvv will come equipped with a premium cabin like its larger siblings – Harrier and Safari. The center of the dashboard of this SUV will be dominated by a 10.25-inch display in base variants and up to 12.3 inches in higher trims.
Apart from this, it will most likely also feature a two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata emblem. Other features of the Curvv could include touch-sensitive climate controls, a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
Coming to the main highlight of the Tata Curvv, the SUV will be offered with electric as well as ICE powerplants. The ICE variants will offer a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which will generate 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque. Additionally, there will be a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 115 PS and 260 Nm.
As for the transmission choices, it will include both manual and automatic options. Reportedly, petrol variants will also feature a dual-clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the Curvv EV will utilize Tata’s Acti.ev platform. It is expected to come equipped with a 55 kWh battery pack delivering an impressive range of up to 550 km on a single charge.
Like all the other Tata Motors cars, the Curvv is also expected to feature a number of safety features. The list of standard offerings could include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera system. It is believed that the company could also offer the Curvv with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as well.
While exact pricing details are yet to be confirmed, industry experts speculate that the Tata Curvv will be competitively priced. It is believed that the ICE variants could start around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Curvv EV from approximately Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
As for its competitors, the Curvv aims to carve a niche in the compact SUV segment. But it will compete against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and MG ZS EV. As per the reports, some Tata dealerships have already commenced bookings for the Curvv. They are asking for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
