Tata Fan Disappointed After Harrier Breaks Down Within 12 Hours Of Delivery

Taking delivery of a car that you have been dreaming of for the longest time brings the best feeling. However, this joy quickly vanishes if your newly bought car breaks down just a few hours after the delivery. Now, as much as it hurts to tell, this actually happened to a Tata Harrier owner from West Bengal. Recently, a video went viral on the internet when an advocate’s Tata Harrier broke down just 12 hours after taking delivery of his SUV.
This video, giving all the details of this brand-new Tata Harrier’s breakdown, has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Prateek Singh. In his video, the creator mentions that the entire incident was reported to him by one of his viewers. He added that this viewer sent him all the details so that he could help him get a solution and spread awareness about the quality of Tata cars.
Now, coming to what actually happened, it has been reported that an advocate bought himself a Tata Harrier Pure Plus S Dark Edition variant. He added that he took delivery of this SUV on the 28th of September at around 6 PM. He mentioned that this case is from West Bengal.
As per the video, the next day, when the owner of this Harrier took it on a drive on a highway, shortly after commencing his journey, he was stranded on the side of the road. The primary reason for this breakdown was revealed to be a gearbox failure.
The owner of the car started recording a video at the location of the breakdown. In his short clip, he showed that although everything looked fine from the outside, the gear lever of the Harrier broke down and was not engaging any gear. Due to this, he could not drive the SUV any further.
In the video, the owner of the car even shows the condition of the gearbox. We can note that it had become very loose and was not working. Following this, the owner mentioned that he is extremely disappointed with the quality of the car from Tata Motors after paying Rs 22 lakh.
He added that not even 12 hours had passed since the delivery, and his car had already broken down. Additionally, the creator of the video highlighted that the owner had to be stranded for 3 hours before the towing vehicle from Tata Motors arrived at the location.
The owner also mentioned that instead of acknowledging the issue, the people who came to tow the car were accusing him of not driving the car properly. To clarify this, the owner stated that he already owned a Maruti Suzuki Brezza and had experience driving a car.
Following the breakdown and tow, the SUV was taken to the Tata dealership, where they replaced a small plastic tab. They stated that the failure was caused by this small part. After this, the owner took the car home.
To his surprise, the next day the SUV broke down again, and this time the issue was the same. The gearbox broke down, and he could not engage the third gear. In his video clip, he shows that he had to take the SUV to the dealership by driving it only in second gear.
As per the video, the car is currently at the Tata Motors dealership and is being worked on. The owner of the car, who, as mentioned, is an advocate, said a few important things. He mentioned that since the dealership was not able to rectify the issue, it escalated to the regional office in Kolkata.
The owner added that he has been told there is an error with the gear-shifting cable. He also mentioned that if his SUV breaks down for the third time, he will lodge an official complaint against Tata Motors and will only accept a replacement car, not the one he has been given.
