The Harrier.EV is a key product for Tata Motors. It has packaged the electric SUV well and given it a competitive pricing. The feature list on the all-electric Harrier is quite expansive. It gets everything from a panoramic sunroof to a Dolby Atmos. One standout feature, which will likely improve practicality is the DrivePay, an all-in-one payment solution that offers multiple user interfaces. It is fairly new in the segment and the larger public would need a proper induction before they start using it. The carmaker has now released an explainer video on its official YouTube handle, on the DrivePay feature.

The step-by-step guide explains what Drivepay is and how to use it. This in-car payment feature functions based on UPI. It caters to almost all your EV-related payment needs- from paying bills at the charging station and keeping a watch on the Fastag balance. You can also set up auto-recharge if needed. DrivePay relies on 'Map My India' for data around charger locations and navigation to those.

How To Charge Your Harrier.EV Using DrivePay?

DrivePay can be operated either through the in-car interface or through your smartphone. The in-car interface can be found on the central infotainment screen. It is a large 14.5-inch unit. Let's first talk about the in-car way of getting this done.

First, select 'DrivePay' from the touchscreen's home screen. The screen then shows the Fastag balance, UPI mandate balance and the transaction history. Click on 'Find Charger' option. The screen then shows the list of available chargers nearby.

Drivepay uses data from various charging solution providers to locate the best option. Select the one you want to go to, and click 'start navigation'. Taking help from the in-car navigation, the system then guides you to the selected charger.

Once you are at the charging station, select the desired gun and enter the desired type of recharge. There are three ways of doing this- hitting the 'Full Charge' will make the battery fully charged. 'Enter amount' and 'Enter Units' are the other options. Once you have input the desired value, click 'Start Charging'. Then plug the gun in. The vehicle then starts charging. When complete, the vehicle will use its available (loaded) balance to pay the bill.

Now, let's see how we can use the iRA mobile app to do the same. Under the 'EV charging' section, select 'Find a charging point'. Select the desired station. Then input the desired amount of charge. You can either enter the amount in Rupees or in Units. You can even set a secure payment limit in this case. This will require you to input the UPI pin for approval.
