Tata Motors is gearing up for a major EV launch. The carmaker will introduce the much-awaited Harrier.EV in the Indian market on June 3, 2025. Hinting at the imminent market entry, more visuals- both videos and images- of the production-spec Harrier being tested without camouflage, are now surfacing. The latest video comes from Pune, and shows a Harrier.EV parked by the streets.

The video shows the electric SUV parked by the road. It wears Red TC (Trade Certificate) plate. Tata Motors could either be testing it, or it could be out on a TV commercial shoot or other promotional activities.

We get to see the Harrier.EV's front and side design highlights in detail. Towards the end of the clip, a quick glimpse of the vehicle's rear can also be had.

Tata Motors has managed to impress the crowd with the Harrier's design. The all-electric version isn't ready to take any chances, and looks much like its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart in most areas. Except for a few cues, much of the bodywork looks like that of the diesel SUV. The closed-off front grille, reworked front and rear bumpers, LED DRLs with welcome and goodbye functions, and multiple ‘.EV’ badges can be cited as the differentiating elements.

The charging port is located near the rear right wheel. This is also where you find the fuel filler on the regular Harrier. This allows the manufacturer to keep key body panel the same between the ICE and EV versions and to find better financial viability in manufacturing.

The EV also comes with new aero-optimized alloy wheels. The tailgate now comes with a 'Harrier.EV' badge and a full-width LED lightbar. In another instance, we saw it being driven on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

Harrier.EV: A Closer Look At It

Tata Harrier.EV is underpinned by the Gen 2 Acti.EV platform and will come with a robust 75 kWh battery pack. Tata claims a range of nearly 500 km per charge. This means that the vehicle will comfortably fit into the long-range EV segment. It will also support both Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.

This EV will feature a powertrain that's mighty enough to produce 369 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, which are by the way, the highest in its segment. It is claimed to do the 0-100 kph sprint in under six seconds. More interestingly, it will also have a dual-motor variant, which will mark the debut of AWD (All Wheel Drive) in Tata's lineup.

The Harrier.EV will have a tech-packed cabin. It will come with features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, JBL audio system, dual-zone climate control, terrain modes, connected car features, and OTA (Over The Air) update support. The interior colourway will consist of Grey and White.

When launched, the all-electric Harrier will become the manufacturer's most powerful EV yet. It will mark Tata's foray into the more desirable and aspirational premium EV segment. With rivals like MG and Mahindra already in the fray, Tata aims to carve out a stronghold in this segment with the product. More importantly, it will act as a bridge between Tata's current EV lineup and the more advanced future portfolio.

We expect the (ex-showroom) prices to fall in the ₹25-30 lakh bracket. It will then lock horns with the likes of the XUV.e9 and BE.6.

Tata Motors has invested over $2 billion into its EV vertical and aims to offer 10 electric vehicles by 2030 — targeting at least 30% market share.
