Tata Harrier.EV: Waiting Periods Revealed Across Variants

Tata Motors launched the much-awaited Harrier.EV in India in June this year. The electric SUV has been packaged and priced well. It has managed to generate immense customer interest. It amassed over 10,000 bookings in the first 24 hours. The soaring demand also meant that the vehicle would soon command long waiting spans. The latest data confirms the same , with some variants having waiting periods of up to 30 weeks (seven months) in some cities.

Three broad trims are available on the Harrier.EV- Adventure, Fearless+, and Empowered. Of these, just the Empowered variant comes with Quad Wheel Drive (QWD). According to the latest reports, the Adventure and Fearless+ trims have the longest waiting periods. These can do up to 28-30 weeks. Both the Adventure 65 and Adventure 65 ACFC (with AC fast charging) will make you wait for up to seven months. The Adventure S 65 and Adventure S 65 ACFC (AC fast charger) have waiting periods of up to 18-21 weeks.

The range-topping Empowered variants seem to have the least waiting time. Customers opting for these will have to wait for 12 to 15 weeks (roughly 3.5 months). The Empowered 75 ACFC, Empowered ST 75 ACFC, Empowered 75, and the QWD variants all fall under this category. The effective waiting period can vary with city and dealer as well.

The Harrier.EV is priced in the Rs 21.49 lakh- Rs 30.23 lakh bracket. The prices of the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) variants go up to Rs 27.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The QWD variants start at Rs 28.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Feature List Is Impressive!

The feature list on the Harrier.EV is quite comprehensive. It comes with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen by Harman powered by Samsung Neo QLED, a premium JBL Audio with Dolby Atmos and performance speakers, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 540 degree surround view, powered tailgate, level 2 ADAS, digital rearview mirror, smartphone-based key fob, remote parking, a dedicate Summon mode, and more. The vehicle also has support for Over-the-air (OTA) updates and comes with connected car technology as well.

This electric SUV is underpinned by the Acti.EV+ platform. Two battery packs are offered- 65 kWh and 75 kWh. These are both IP67-rated and come with an effective liquid cooling system. The manufacturer is also offering a lifetime warranty on these.

The lower variants of the e-SUV come with a rear-mounted electric motor. The powertrain output stands at 238 PS and 315 Nm. The Empowered trim gets a dual-motor setup, with a combined output of 390 bhp and 504 Nm of torque.

The electric SUV also gets selectable driving modes- Eco, City and Sport. An additional Boost mode is given on the dual-motor variants. It unleashes the maximum capabilities of the powertrain for a limited period of time. The Harrier EV can sprint to 100kph speed from a complete standstill in just 6.3 seconds, and is thus the fastest in its segment.

The SUV also gets additional terrain modes for more flexibility while embarking on off-road journeys. The range-toppingh AWD variant comes with six terrain modes- Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Custom.

The 65 kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 538 km (MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 Cycle) on a full charge. The larger unit claims a range of 627 km. The real-world range figures of the 75 kWh pack is over 500 km per charge.
