Tata Harrier.EV Vs Mahindra BE.6 & XEV 9E: Top Speed & Kerb Weight Compared

The electric vehicle game in India is changing at a very high pace. The competition in the EV space is getting fiercer with every passing day. Even Indian brands like Mahindra and Tata are working on new EVs. The latest EV that has become the talking point is the Tata Harrier.ev. We know how the car looks and the features it offers. The kerb weight and the top speed of the Harrier.ev have also been released now, and this is how it compares with the Mahindra BE6 and the XEV 9E.
The Tata Harrier.ev, as we know, is not based on a dedicated electric vehicle platform. Tata has actually made several modifications to the ICE Harrier platform to make it suitable for an EV. As we know, Tata is offering their all-new electric SUV in both single and dual-motor setups.
The single motor or the RWD version of the Tata Harrier.ev has a kerb weight of 2,235 kg. The QWD or the AWD version of the SUV has a kerb weight of 2,336 kg.
The BE6, which is a compact SUV, is currently offered in an RWD configuration. This compact electric SUV is based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which is specifically made for EVs. The kerb weight of the BE6 is 1,907 kilograms. This is actually understandable as the BE6 is smaller in terms of dimensions and it also gets a single motor setup only.
The XEV 9E is currently the flagship model from Mahindra. The XEV 9E is actually longer than the Harrier.ev, but the Tata is wider and taller than the XEV 9E. Coming to the kerb weight, the XEV 9E weighs around 2,210 kg. Both the XEV 9E and BE6 are lighter than the Harrier.ev (both RWD and QWD versions).
It should be noted that even the dual motor version of the Harrier.ev is only slightly heavier than the single motor XEV 9E.
The Tata Harrier.ev is powered by an electric motor that is capable of generating 287 Bhp and 504 Nm of peak torque. It is currently the quickest electric SUV in its segment as it can do 0–100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds. The top speed of the Harrier.ev is electronically limited to 180 kmph. It is capable of touching the 200 kmph mark, but the company decided to restrict the speed to 180 kmph.
Coming to the BE6, the SUV is powered by an electric motor on the rear axle and it generates a maximum of 282 Bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. The top speed of the BE6 is 202 kmph. The speed is electronically limited.
Next on the list is the XEV 9E. Even this premium electric SUV is powered by the same 79 kWh battery pack and comes with an RWD configuration. The top speed of the Mahindra XEV 9E electric SUV is also limited to 202 kmph. Both EVs have a higher top speed than that of the recently launched Tata Harrier.ev.
The starting price of the Tata Harrier.ev is Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra BE6 starts at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), and the XEV 9E, which will rival the Harrier.ev, starts at Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
