Tata Motors Launches Stealth Dark Editions of Harrier and Safari

Tata Motors has launched the Stealth Dark editions of the Harrier and Safari in India. The carmaker had previously showcased these at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The Harrier Stealth edition is priced at Rs 25.09 lakh, while the Safari Stealth starts at Rs 25.29 lakh. These now sit at the top of the Safari and Harrier lineups. The key highlight of the Stealth edition is its colourway- the SUVs come finished in a Matte Black colour. In a recent video shared on the YouTube channel MRD Cars, the host explains the design details of the new Harrier Stealth edition.
He starts by showing the SUV's key. Further, he shows the Matte Black colour of the Stealth edition. The Dark edition wears a complete (gloss) Black colour, while the Stealth edition gets a Matte Black paint. The grille, here, is finished in gloss Black. The 19-inch alloy wheels are also painted Black. The tyre size is 245/55 R19-same as the regular version. Plus, the front fender gets a 'Stealth' badge/mascot. The Tata badge at the front has been de-Chromed to gel in well with the rest of the design.
The host further shows the changes inside the cabin. The only change here is the Carbon Noir colourway. This shade of Black is a shade or two lighter than what you get to find inside the Dark Edition.
The seats get Black upholstery with Granite Black stitching. The dashboard uses soft-touch materials. Apart from the colours, nothing else about the cabin has changed on the Stealth edition.
The feature list remains untouched as well. The top-spec comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 10-speaker JBL premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, ADAS Level 2, and seven airbags.
The Stealth edition is based on the top-of-the-line Fearless Plus variants. It is available with both manual and automatic transmission choices. The manual variant has an ex-showroom price of Rs 25.10 lakh, whereas the automatic costs Rs 26.25 lakh, ex-showroom.
On the Safari, the Stealth edition comes on the Accomplished Plus trim. The transmission options here include both manual and automatic. The special edition also comes on the 6-seater variant. This, however, comes only with an automatic gearbox.
The manual variant of Safari Stealth Dark Edition has a price of Rs 25.29 lakh, ex-showroom. The automatic costs Rs 26.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The 6-seater automatic, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 26.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Safari and Harrier are both powered by the same Fiat-souced 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine- which Tata calls ‘Kryotec’. The Stealth editions get no mechanical changes and come with the same set of engines and transmissions (a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic). This diesel engine produces 170 bhp and 350 Nm on these as well.
If you were to upgrade a regular Dark edition to Stealth, a full aftermarket Matte PPF coating would cost at least ₹1 lakh. However, the 'official' Stealth edition costs just ₹75,000 more than the higher-end regular variants—and it comes with a factory matte black paint job. The bottom line? The Stealth Dark edition is all about the new Matte Black colour, with most features, technology, and mechanicals remaining unchanged from the standard Harrier/Safari or even the Dark editions.
