5 Production-Ready Tata SUVs Coming To the Auto Expo 2025

Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is almost here, and Tata Motors has already confirmed its participation in it. There is a lot to look out for at the Tata Motors pavilion this time. It will have five highly anticipated production-ready SUVs along with possible concepts (which we are not sure of yet). Let’s delve into the details of these:
Huge anticipation surrounds the Sierra EV. The vehicle will revive the legendary Sierra nameplate in the country and will have a futuristic design. Tata Motors will debut the production-ready model at the Auto Expo 2025.
The electric version of what was probably India’s first compact SUV will have an interesting design. Key highlights would be large, curvy rear windows, massive glass area, rear quarter glass, Black C and D pillars, large air dams, slim lights, trapezoidal headlight housings, skid plate, EV-spec Aero wheels and a tall stance.
The original Sierra was a three-door SUV. But the EV will have a 5-door design and spy shots of the same had previously surfaced. Unlike the original Sierra, there is no tailgate-mounted sparewheel either. The Sierra.EV will be based on the new-age Acti.EV platform. This high-voltage architecture is also seen on the Curvv.EV and Punch.EV. This electric powertrain would be able to deliver 500 km per charge. There will also be both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. There would thus be AWD on offer.
The manufacturer will also introduce the electric version of the Harrier at the Expo. The Harrier.EV will have an electric powertrain that delivers a range of around 500 km per charge. The battery pack here would have a capacity of around 60-80 kWh and the vehicle will have AWD and RWD versions. When launched, it will compete with the likes of the recently launched Mahindra XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 7e.
Tata will also showcase the ICE (petrol/diesel) version of the Sierra at the Expo. The vehicle will come with the new 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo petrol engine and the familiar 2.0L diesel engine from the Harrier. The actual specifications are still unknown. The Tata Sierra will be underpinned by the ATLAS platform, also seen on the ICE versions of the Curvv.
Tata Harrier will soon get a petrol engine. The SUV will get Tata’s new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 168 hp and around 280 Nm. Tata Motors has been testing the petrol-powered Harrier for quite some time, and the same is expected to make a public debut at the Auto Expo this week.
Having a petrol version could bring down the vehicle’s price. It will then be able to fight harder against the Mahindra XUV 700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. These SUVs get both petrol and diesel powertrains.
The Safari is more or less the 7-seater version of the Harrier. Soon after the Harrier gets the petrol mill, the Safari will also get the four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Currently, the Safari is powered by an FCA-sourced 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine 168 hp and 350 Nm. Both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission are available. The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine will produce less torque even when the power remains identical.
Tata Motors will debut the petrol-powered Safari at the Bharat Mobilit Expo 2025. It will be showcased alongside the Safari EV. The electric version will have identical powertrain as the Harrier EV.
