4 New Petrol SUVs From Tata Motors Launching Soon

Currently, Tata Motors offers its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and Safari, with only diesel engines. However, for a while now, Tata enthusiasts have been asking the company to also offer a petrol engine for these SUVs. Now, bringing in the good news, it has been reported that the company will soon be launching the petrol versions of these two SUVs, along with two more petrol SUVs. Here are the details of all the Tata Motors petrol SUVs that are coming in the next few months.
After so many requests, Tata Motors will finally be offering the Harrier mid-size SUV with a petrol motor. The exact launch date has not been revealed as of yet; however, most likely its launch will take place next year in 2025. This new model will come equipped with a 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine.
For those who may not remember, this motor was introduced by Tata back in 2023 at the Indian Auto Expo. This new four-cylinder turbo engine will be able to generate 170 bhp of power. It will also be able to generate a maximum torque output of 280 Nm.
Most likely, the Harrier petrol will look exactly the same as the diesel model from the outside as well as the inside. Once launched, this SUV will be taking on rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and others.
A while ago, a test mule of the Tata Safari petrol was spotted testing on public roads. Most likely, this new model will be launched around the same time as the Harrier petrol. Like the Harrier, the Safari petrol will also come with the same 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine.
This four-cylinder motor will make the exact same 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Presently, the Tata Safari and Harrier sales are very low compared to those of the Mahindra Scorpio-N and XUV700. One of the biggest reasons for this is not offering petrol engine options.
So, the company is working to offer both of these SUVs with petrol engines, which are witnessing huge demand in the country. In terms of pricing, it is believed that the Safari and Harrier petrol models will be priced lower than the current diesel engine models.
Apart from the Harrier and Safari petrol models, the company is also working on the Tata Punch facelift. The company recently introduced an updated model; however, a new facelifted model with a new front fascia is in the works.
The upcoming Tata Punch will most likely take inspiration from the Punch.ev. This means that it will come equipped with a more aggressive-looking front-end design with a split headlamp design, connected LED DRLs on top, and LED headlights on the bottom.
Most likely, it will also get an updated interior as well. As for the powerplant, reportedly it will retain the same engine option as the current-generation model. Currently, the Punch is offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It makes 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque.
Tata Motors has already showcased the Sierra.ev production version. However, the company has also confirmed that a petrol-powered version of this much-anticipated SUV is also coming. As per reports, it will also get the same new 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine making 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
As for the design, unlike the concept, which was a three-door model, the production Sierra petrol will come with five doors. However, these doors have been cleverly designed to blend in with the design to make it appear like a three-door model. It will also be getting a very futuristic and minimalistic interior design as well.
