The first of the six new SUVs which will be making its debut next year will be the Tata Harrier.ev. It will be the electrified iteration of the already popular mid-size SUV Harrier. The new Harrier.ev will be based on the Acti.ev platform, which is the brand’s newest electric architecture.
In terms of design, it will get a closed-off grille, new bumpers, and aerodynamic alloy wheels. As per the reports, the upcoming Harrier.ev will be offered with a 75 kWh battery pack. It will be enough to offer a minimum driving range of 500 km. The Harrier.ev is expected to be launched in January 2025 with a starting price of Rs 20–25 lakh.
Can any of these cars really take on the just-launched Mahindra BE 6E and the XEV E9? You tell us! How will Tata take on the 280 bhp Mahindra EVs? Let’s hope Tata has some surprises in store for us.
Alongside the Tata Harrier.ev, the company will most definitely launch the Safari.ev as well. Both of these siblings, over the years, have received updates at the same time. It will also be based on the new Tata Acti.ev electric architecture and boast a 75 kWh battery pack.
In terms of design, the company will utilize the already popular Safari’s exterior design and add some EV-specific design cues to create distinction. Once launched, the Safari.ev will be competing with the XUV.e8, the electric version of the XUV700, which will also most likely be launched next year.
Tata Motors has finally listened to its customers, and it is working on the development of the newest generation of the Sierra. The company will first be launching the Sierra.ev, which will get a more practical 5-door layout, large rear glass area, and connected LED lighting at the front and rear.
In terms of the powertrain, the upcoming Tata Sierra.ev is expected to be launched with the same 75 kWh battery pack offering 500 km of range. We can expect the company to show a near-production version of this highly anticipated SUV at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo next year.
Apart from the EV SUVs, Tata Motors is still betting big on ICE vehicles, and it will be launching the Harrier with its newly developed turbo petrol engine. Tata enthusiasts have been asking for this SUV’s launch for a long time, and finally, the company is going to launch it.
Built on the Atlas platform, the new Harrier petrol will be offered with the brand-new 1.5-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine. It will be capable of producing 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque.
Like the Harrier turbo petrol, the Safari will also get the same 1.5-litre turbo GDi four-cylinder petrol engine. The power output will also be the exact same as the Harrier: 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Once launched, it will be taking on rivals like the Mahindra Scorpio-N and XUV700, which are already being offered with petrol motors.
Tata Motors has already confirmed that the Sierra will also be launched with ICE engines. Most likely, it will also get the same 1.5-litre turbo engine that will be seen on the Harrier and Safari turbo petrol variants. At the moment, the exact date of launch for this model has not been revealed. However, it will likely make its debut in the second half of next year.
