10 new tata cars lined up for india

Tata Motors seems to have aggressive plans for growth and expansion. The homegrown carmaker has a slew of launches lined up for the time ahead. These include all-new products and updates of the existing lineup. These will further include electric vehicles and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles.

The latest data reveals that Tata Motors could launch around 30 products by 2030. These will include as many as seven brand-new nameplates. All these models will fall into the passenger vehicle space. Here are 10 launches that Tata Motors has in plans, for the upcoming months.

In this phase of product launches, Tata will take a more layered, multi-product strategy. The products in the pipeline will include urban compact EVs, lifestyle SUVs, midsize family cars and premium electric SUVs. Here are 10 launches which can be expected before the end of 2026...

1. Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors is set to resurrect the 'Sierra' moniker in India. Upon its return this financial year, the new Sierra will have both ICE and EV versions to it. The Sierra EV is expected to come before the ICE version. It will be based on Tata's new-age Acti.EV architecture. The exact specifications of this powertrain aren't out yet.

2. Tata Sierra Diesel

The ICE Sierra will have a diesel version to it. It will likely use the same 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine that does duty on the current Harrier and Safari. This Stellantis-sourced engine could make for a great fit on the Sierra.

3, 4 &5. Petrol Variants Of Harrier, Safari And Sierra

Tata Motors is developing a new 1.5L petrol engine for use in its SUVs. The carmaker showcased a 1.5L direct injection turbocharged petrol engine at the Auto Expo previously. It was later delayed to the market.

Now, we have learnt that Tata will also develop a naturally aspirated version of this engine for use in models including the Sierra. Doing so will help the manufacturer to price it competitively, and appeal to buyers who prefer petrol vehicles over diesel. The petrol engine will also be used on the Harrier and Safari as well.

6. Scarlet Compact SUV

The carmaker is also working on developing an all-new compact SUV. The vehicle is internally codenamed 'Scarlet'. It will be a sub-4 metre offering. It will likely have a bold, boxy shape inspired by the Sierra. It is currently in early developmental stage. Details are thus sparse.

The Tata Scarlet will have both ICE and EV versions. The ICE version could use the Nexon-sourced 1.2L turbo-petrol, the Curvv's 1.2L direct-injection turbo-petrol or the newly-developed 1.5 petrols. It remains to be seen if there will be a diesel engine offered as well.

7. Next-Generation Nexon

The next-generation Nexon will likely launch in the second half of 2026. Codenamed 'Garud', the vehicle is currently in the developmental stage. It is expected to come with a lot of changes- in both styling and kit levels.

8. Updated Punch

Tata Motors has been testing an updated (facelifted) version of the punch. This could launch in India later this year. Details on this update are sparse as we speak.

9 & 10. Avinya And Avinya X

Tata Motors showed the Avinya for the first time in 2022. It was later revealed that the 'Avinya' will not be a standalone model, but a dedicated family of electric luxury SUVs. At the Bharat Mobility Expo this year, another concept called the Avinya X was showcased. The production forms of these two are expected to be out in 2026.

Other Possible Launches

Tata Motors is also known to be working on the next-generation Harrier and Safari (currently codenamed Taurus and Leo), and two electric vehicles called 'Kuno' and 'Terra' internally. It could also launch a couple of range-extender hybrid SUVs in 2027.
