On the other hand, Mahindra, which is also an Indian car manufacturer, secured the third spot with 37,015 units. Hyundai, which was extremely popular among customers for its premium and feature-loaded car models, has been pushed to the fourth spot. Hyundai registered 35,443 units.

As usual, the brand that secured the number one spot is Maruti Suzuki with 1,22,278 units in September 2025. Coming back to Tata, this is actually a great achievement, especially when you consider the competition. Tata has a variety of models in the ICE and EV range, and the numbers mentioned here include both.

Tata has been aggressive in terms of pricing its new and existing models. The new GST restructuring has only helped many brands, including Tata. Tata cars have become cheaper by up to ₹1.55 lakh, and the company is also offering additional festive season discounts on many of its models. Of the total sales, 17,800 units were from the iCNG models and they also saw a best-even monthly sales for EVs at 9,191 units.

In the entry-level segment, Tata has the Tiago and Tigor sedans. Both these models are available in ICE and EV forms. Similarly, we have the Punch, which is available with petrol and EV versions. In fact, the Punch is one of the best-selling models in the entire Tata range.

It is available with petrol, diesel, and iCNG versions. Tata also has the Nexon.ev in the market, which is a popular EV.

In between the Punch and the Nexon, we have Tata’s only premium hatchback, the Altroz. It is, in fact, the only hatchback in the segment to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. An iCNG variant of the same is also available.

Above the Nexon, we have the Curvv, Harrier, and the 7-seater Safari SUV. All these models have contributed in their own ways to push Tata to the second spot. The Curvv and the Harrier are available with ICE and EV versions. Apart from these models, Tata is also working on a variety of new models for our market.
