According to reports surfacing online, Tata will be offering another update to the Nexon EV. It will soon be getting Level 2 ADAS. The launch for the updated version is expected to happen in the coming weeks.

Tata Nexon EV has been a popular electric SUV in India, and it was the best-selling EV from Tata for quite some time. Over the years, competition in this segment has also gone up, and that is probably the reason why Tata is planning to come up with this feature. Tata is likely to introduce this soon to take advantage of the upcoming festive season.

Tata will be launching a new range-topping variant of the Nexon EV. It is likely to be called the Empowered+ A (A stands for ADAS) variant. Tata will be offering Level 2 ADAS features in the top-end variant with the bigger battery pack. The 45 kWh battery pack version offers a claimed range of 489 km.

Tata offers Level 2 ADAS in many ICE and EV models in their existing lineup. The upcoming Empowered+ A variant will get ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane-keep assist, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, auto high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic and collision warning, and a driver drowsiness detector.

The Empowered+ is already a loaded variant with features like a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats with ventilation, automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster, and more.

Tata will be offering this feature in the new variant, and this update will reach customers at a cost. Tata is expected to price the ADAS version of the Nexon EV at least Rs 75,000 more than the regular 45 kWh Empowered+ variant.

The current price for the Tata Nexon EV starts at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). With this new update, Tata will rival the likes of the MG ZS EV Essence Pro, which was launched earlier this year. The price for the MG ZS EV Essence Pro variant is Rs 18.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata, as usual, will play the pricing game aggressively to gain buyers’ attention.

Apart from the 45 kWh battery pack version, the lower variant gets a 30 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 275 km. Tata Nexon EV is known for its futuristic looks and features, and it is also one of the safest SUVs in its segment. Not just the regular Nexon, but the Nexon EV has also scored a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test.
