Tata Nexon is one of the most popular SUVs in its segment. It is currently the only SUV in its segment available in petrol, diesel, and electric versions. It was the first Tata product to achieve a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. We have come across several instances where Tata Nexon showcased its build quality. Here, we have one such incident where a Tata Nexon SUV went through a wall and emerged on the other side.

Nexon crashed into a wall

The images have been circulating on various social media platforms. The cause of this crash is unknown; however, it looks like the driver probably lost control and forced the car into the wall. As seen in the images, the Tata Nexon SUV crashed through the wall, and the front end of the SUV emerged on the other side. We do not see much damage to the front end of the car.

While most who came across the images think of it as a testimonial to the Nexon’s build quality, we have a different opinion. It looks like the wall the SUV crashed into was actually a boundary wall. Usually, such walls are not very strong. It is also possible that the wall was still under construction when this accident happened.

If you look carefully, the car narrowly missed a concrete pillar. If the SUV had crashed into the pillar, the result would have been slightly different. The bricks simply flew away after the Nexon crashed into them. This would have been different in that case. The Nexon seen here is the pre-facelift version. While we are really impressed by the fact that the car is undamaged, this accident doesn’t prove the build quality.

This is not the first time we have come across an accident report involving a Tata Nexon. Many Tata customers have reported instances where they have miraculously escaped from major accidents. In this case, we are not sure if someone was sitting in the car or if the driver simply forgot to pull the handbrake. Whatever the cause may have been, the owner of the Nexon SUV was lucky enough to escape without any major damages.

Not the First Time

As mentioned above, this is not the first time we have come across an accident like this. A few months ago, we came across a report in which a Tata Nexon SUV saved the lives of occupants in a major accident. This was a high-speed crash that occurred at around 5 AM on the Yamuna Expressway near Mathura.

There is no video of the crash available at the moment; however, the woman driving the car said she rear-ended a truck on the expressway at high speed. It is not clear if the truck had stopped abruptly or if it was the fault of the car driver, which led to this accident. Whatever the case may have been, the occupants were lucky enough to escape with minor injuries. The video clearly shows that the front end of the SUV was completely destroyed, and this accident is actually a good example that shows the build quality of the Nexon.

Build Quality

While opting for a new car, many first-time car buyers are now considering the build quality of the vehicle too. They are considering safety as a major factor along with fuel economy and features. Tata is one of the leading car manufacturers known for making sturdy vehicles. The Nexon SUV was the first SUV from the manufacturer to score a 5-star rating.

Opting for a safer car helps in reducing the risk of major injuries in case of an accident. Along with that, it is also important to wear a seat belt irrespective of where you are sitting. The current version of the Tata Nexon also passed the Global NCAP crash test with a 5-star rating. The Tata Nexon facelift scored 32.22 points for adult occupant protection and 44.52 points for child occupant protection.

The Tata Nexon offered good protection to the head and neck of the adult occupants in the frontal impact test. The driver’s knee, as well as the passenger’s knee, were also protected. This is the first time Tata is testing the Nexon under the new regulations, which now include side crash impacts. The norms for the front crash test are also more stringent than before.
