Why is the Tata Punch So Popular?

The Tata Punch has managed to win the hearts of many Indian car buyers. This is because it is an SUV priced similarly to hatchbacks. However, apart from this, there are multiple reasons why the Tata Punch has managed to achieve 5 lakh cumulative sales since October 2021.

Multiple Drivetrain Options

Tata offers the Punch with a number of different powertrain options. The list includes a petrol variant with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated motor that makes 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque. It is offered with a 5-speed manual and an automated manual gearbox. Apart from this, it also comes in a CNG iteration featuring the unique twin-cylinder technology.

Additionally, Tata Motors also offers the Punch in an EV guise. It is offered with two battery pack options—25 kWh and 35 kWh—offering a maximum range of 365 km on a single full charge. Due to such a diverse range of options, there is a Tata Punch for every type of buyer.

Feature-Rich

Another major reason is that this micro-SUV comes equipped with a ton of features. The list of equipment offered by the Tata Punch includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument gauge cluster, automatic climate control, a single-pane electric sunroof (EV), and a cooled glovebox. All of these features make the Punch a very value-for-money vehicle.

5-Star Safety

As awareness of vehicle safety is increasing in India, the Tata Punch has managed to secure a lot of sales due to its 5-star safety rating. It is currently the most affordable 5-star safety-rated vehicle in India. It has managed to score 31.46 out of 32 points in the adult occupant protection tests held by Global NCAP. As for child occupant protection, it scored 45/49 points.

Attractive Pricing

India, as we all know, is a price-sensitive market, and Tata Motors has managed to lure in buyers because of the affordable pricing of this micro-SUV. The Punch starts at Rs 6.12 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 15.49 lakh for the top-spec EV variant. This means there is a Tata Punch for buyers in every price segment.
