Tata Harrier And Safari Stealth Edition: New TVC Out [Video]

The latest special edition from Tata Motors is the 'Stealth Dark edition'. Available on the Safari and Harrier, the Stealth edition was launched in India, last month. The Harrier Stealth starts at Rs 25.09 lakh while the Safari Stealth edition has a starting price of Rs 25.29 lakh. The carmaker has now released a new TV commercial (TVC) that shows the Stealth Edition in detail.
The new TVC highlights the 'Stealth' nature of the SUV. It shows the exterior design and Stealth badging. You also get to see quick glimpses of the interior and some of its features.
The Stealth Dark Edition is based on the top-spec Fearless Plus trim of the Harrier and the Accomplished Plus trim of the Safari. It celebrates 27 years of the Safari nameplate and the production is thus limited to 2700 units.
The biggest highlight is the new Matte Black colourway. The Dark edition, on the other hand, has a Gloss Black colourway.
On the stealth edition, the body is finished in Matte Black. The grille stands out with its Gloss Black finish. The 19-inch alloy wheels are also finished in Black. The tyre size is the same as that of the regular SUV- 245/55 R19.
The Tata badges and various other Chrome bits on the exterior have been de-Chromed or darkened, to gel with the rest of the design. You also get to see 'Stealth' mascots on the exterior. The new TVC shows these in detail.
On the inside, the Stealth edition gets a Carbon Noir colourway. This is a shade or two lighter than the one you see inside the Dark edition. It gives the Stealth Edition a masculine and serious air. The upholstery has a dark theme to it and has Granite Black stitching. The changes inside the cabin are limited to the new colours.
Since it is based on the top-spec trim, the Stealth Edition comes with features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 10-speaker JBL premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, and seven airbags. This is the same as the regular variants.
Mechanically, the Stealth Dark edition remains unchanged. This limited edition continues to be powered by the familiar Stellantis-sourced 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine- the Kryotec. This powertrain is capable of producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm. The available transmission options are a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
You can upgrade a regular Dark edition into the Stealth edition by using aftermarket matte PPF. Doing so will cost at least 1 lakh rupees. In contrast, the Stealth Dark edition has a price premium of just Rs 75,000 over the top-spec variants.
The factory-applied matte Black paint definitely has an advantage in the way it looks and feels, and has a lower price in comparison. Thus buying a Stealth edition could look like a better financial decision to many. The caveat here, is the volume-capped nature of the product.
The Harrier Stealth edition has a starting price of 25.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Fearless Plus manual variant. The Fearless Plus automatic Stealth edition has an ex-showroom price of 26.50 lakh.
The Stealth Dark comes on three variants of the Safari- Accomplished Plus manual and automatic (7 seater), and the 6-seater automatic. These have ex-showroom prices of 25.75 lakh, 27.15 lakh, and 27.25 lakh respectively.
