Tata Sierra SUV Spied Testing Ahead Of Launch: Fresh Details Revealed (Video)

Tata Motors is working on the development of the Sierra and Sierra.ev mid-size SUVs. Both of these SUVs will most likely be launching before the end of this year. Recently, a new test mule of the Sierra was spotted testing on public roads. It was noted that this vehicle will be getting a number of unique features which have been inspired by Land Rover vehicles. Here are all the details of the latest test mule of the Tata Sierra.
The video showing the Tata Sierra being tested on public roads has been shared on Instagram by Auto Journal India on their page. In this short video, we can note that a fully camouflaged Sierra was being tested during rain. The main highlight from the video, which can be noted, is that the vehicle was equipped with an inverted rear windshield wiper.
This wiper also gets hidden underneath the rear spoiler when it is not being used. This premium design of the wiper is seen on the much more expensive Land Rover models. Apart from this, another important detail which has been noted is that the Sierra and the Sierra.ev will both get flush-type door handles.
Currently, the same type of door handles is offered on the Curvv, Curvv.ev, and the newly launched 2025 Altroz premium hatchback. Coming to the other notable highlights of the upcoming Sierra, it can be observed that it will get 19-inch alloy wheels. Most likely, they will be the same ones that are seen on the Safari and Harrier top-spec variants.
As for the front, the new Sierra will be getting a connected LED DRL and a set of LED headlights, which will be mounted on the middle portion of the front bumper. The overall silhouette of the Sierra is very boxy and seems to have taken inspiration from the Land Rover Discovery.
Recently, another spy image of the upcoming Sierra became viral on the internet. It was noted that the Sierra will be getting a triple screen layout. Following the XEV 9E, the Sierra will become the second Indian vehicle to offer this unique feature. There will be three screens on the dashboard, of which the first will be placed in front of the driver.
This digital instrument gauge will provide all the necessary vehicle information to the driver. Then, in the middle, there will be a touchscreen infotainment system, which will be common for the driver and the front passenger. Lastly, there will also be a touchscreen in front of the front passenger, through which they can get entertained or use navigation or other vehicle functions.
Tata Motors will be first launching the Sierra.ev in India, and after that, it will be offering the petrol- and diesel-powered variants. The Sierra.ev is expected to get the same battery pack options of 65 kWh and 75 kWh, offering a maximum range of 627 km on a single full charge. Now whether the Sierra will get an all-wheel-drive system or not has not been revealed.
The SUV will be offered in both ICE and EV forms. The ICE version of the Sierra will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is likely to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit, while the diesel version will continue with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine used in the Harrier and Safari.
