The images showing the under-construction Tesla dealership in Mumbai have been shared on X by Manish R. Jain on their page. In these, we can note that the entire ground of the Maker Maxity 2 North Avenue at the BKC (Bombay Kurla Complex) has been acquired by the electric auto giant. We can note that there are two Tesla logos on the left windows.
Currently, the dealership seems to be in the final stages of interior work, and most likely it will be inaugurated soon. As mentioned, this particular Tesla dealership is the first in India. However, the company will most likely be expanding its network in Delhi and Gurugram, along with other major cities in India.
For those who may not remember, back in 2024, Tesla was in talks with DLF, the largest real estate developer in India, to lease spaces for its upcoming dealerships. The two proposed locations were DLF Avenue Mall in South Delhi and Cyber Hub in Gurugram. DLF was asked to provide 3,000–5,000 sq. ft. spaces.
In addition to the Tesla dealership located at BKC, the company has also recently leased a warehouse in Kurla, Mumbai, as well. Reportedly, the company has paid a Rs 2.25 crore security deposit, and the rent will be Rs 37.5 lakh per month for the next 5 years.
Tesla Inc. has already started hiring people for its dealership in Mumbai. It recently posted a few job postings, which included jobs for Service Advisors, Parts Advisors, Store Manager, Service Technician, Delivery Operations Specialist, and many others. Most likely, the company will also start hiring for the dealerships in Bangalore, Delhi, and other locations.
