India's automotive space seems to have gained momentum as we enter into the second half of the calendar year. In recent months, we have seen several carmakers coming up with attractive product launches and the trend is here to stay. Even the MPV segment is spooling up and as many as three new launches are expected this month. Here's a quick look at these.

Kia Carens Clavis EV - Launching On July 15th

The first to arrive will be Kia's first mass-market electric vehicle for India- the Carens Clavis EV. It will also become the manufacturer's first locally produced electric vehicle when launched. The EV will be based on the recently introduced Clavis. From exterior styling to in-cabin experience, the two will share a lot.

The design of the electric MPV will mimic that of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart in many areas. EV-specific styling cues will include a nose-mounted charging port, aero-optimized wheels, and a closed-off grille section.

The layout and design on Clavis EV's cabin will stand close those of the ICE MPV. A notable change is that the EV's centre console will have more storage space than that of the petrol/diesel vehicle, as there will be no gear lever on offer. The EV will only be available as a seven-seater.

The all-electric Clavis will have good kit levels. It will come equipped with features like two 12.3 inch screens- one for the infotainment and the other for instrumentation, premium BOSE audio, a large panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a dual-zone climate control with ventilated front seats.

The Clavis EV is expected to come with the same powertrain as the outgoing Hyundai Creta EV. It will offer the choice of two battery packs- 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The larger of these will have a range of 490 kilometres per charge. We lack clarity on the vehicle's motor output.

MG M9- Launching On July 21st

MG Motor India will launch the electric luxury MPV, the M9, in India on July 21, 2025. It will be an all-electric alternative to the likes of Toyota Vellfire. When launched, it could have a price of around 65 lakh rupees. The company has already started accepting orders for the MPV. You can book yours by paying a token amount of Rs 51,000. MG plans to sell the M9 through its 'Select' network.

The MG M9 has bold design and strong road presence. It spans more than 5 meters in length and offers generous room on the inside. The vehicle comes with all-LED lighting and sliding rear doors that can be operated electrically.

The cabin will pack a lot of luxury features and technologies. It will have presidential seats finished in a Cognac Brown colourway. The middle-row will have cosy captain chairs with ottoman footrests. These will also have heating, ventilation and massage functions.

The M9 will have a front-axle-mounted electric motor paired with a 90 kWh battery pack. It will be capable of making 245PS and 350 Nm, and have a WLTP range of 430 km per charge.

Renault Triber Facelift- Launching On July 23rd

upcoming renault triber facelift front

Renault is set to launch a facelifted Triber MPV in India this July, with several notable updates. It will likely have a new design. Spy shots hint at the MPV making a transition to Renault's new-age design ethos.

It will have a new front section with a revised grille design and new, better-looking headlamps. The front and rear bumpers are likely to be redrawn as well. The vehicle will also ride on new wheels. Several styling changes are expected inside the cabin as well. The feature list will also be revisited.

The new Triber is likely to continue with its existing powertrains- the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. There are, however, rumours of it getting a Kiger's meatier 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. We will get to know more about this, closer to launch. Due to the revisions mentioned above, the new Triber could command a price premium.
