When it comes to the full-size ladder-on-frame chassis SUVs in India, the Toyota Fortuner leads the segment. In fact, it is so popular that its sales are more than the combined sales of all its competitors in India. Now, over the years, a few SUVs have tried to challenge the legacy of the mighty Fortuner, but all have failed. Although it now seems like, for the first time, the Fortuner could be getting tough competition from the upcoming three SUVs. So, without any delay, here are the details.

3 Toyota Fortuner rivals coming

MG Majestor

The first SUV which will be launched to rival the Fortuner will be the MG Majestor. This SUV was unveiled to the public at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo this year. It has been inspired by the Maxus D90 SUV, which is currently sold in international markets. The Majestor gets a large blacked-out grille with horizontal slats and a large MG logo at the center.

It also gets a split headlight setup, slim LED DRLs on top, and vertically positioned LED headlights. On the side profile, the main highlights are its 19-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out trims on the window line, ORVMs, and door handles. As for the rear end, this SUV gets a set of connected LED taillights and a blacked-out element underneath the rear windscreen.

The only SUV which came closest to the Toyota Fortuner in terms of popularity, sales, and legacy is the Ford Endeavour. Although Ford currently does not offer new cars in India, it is planning to re-enter India with the Endeavour, which will now be called the Everest, like it's sold in the international markets. The new Everest boasts a very bold and muscular design.

At the front, it gets C-shaped LED headlights and DRLs, a two-part grille, and an overall more aggressive design. Other notable highlights of the Everest include 20-inch machined multi-spoke alloy wheels, LED taillights with the Everest logo encased in a glass section in the middle, and others.
