The automotive sector is getting ready for some major unveils and showcases this month. Brand-new electric and ICE SUVs and sedans are set to debut in November. Here are four new models to watch out for, from brands like Skoda, Honda, Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki.

Skoda Kylaq

Skoda India will take wraps off the production-spec Kylaq on November 6th. The made-in-India sub-4 meter SUV will slot below the Kushaq in Skoda’s domestic portfolio and compete with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Nexon and Venue when launched. Likely to be priced in the range of 8-12 lakh, ex-showroom, it will become Skoda’s most affordable model in the country.

Skoda Kylaq is expected to be a good-looking SUV that takes cues from the manufacturer’s ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy. It will have the signature butterfly grille, sleek LED headlamps, and tail lamps, along with 17-inch alloy wheels for the higher variants.

The vehicle will span 3,995 mm in length and have a wheelbase of 2,566 mm. It will also come with a ground clearance of 189 mm. It will be underpinned by the MQB A0 IN platform, which also forms the base of the Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Taigun. There will be a high degree of localisation involved.

On the inside, the SUV will get ample technology and features. It will come with a 10.1-inch floating-type touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a ventilation feature for the front seats, a 360-degree camera, and more. The safety suite will have six airbags, ABS, EBD etc.

The SUV will be powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115 PS and 178 Nm. It is the same mill that’s also seen in the Kushaq. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options will be available.

Maruti Dzire

Maruti Suzuki India has started accepting bookings for the new fourth-generation Dzire. It will have major styling, feature and mechanical updates over the predecessor. It will be based on the outgoing Swift. The front fascia would get a complete design rework and would come with a large, new front grille with horizontal slats, angular LED headlamps, and a new bumper. The side will have new alloy wheels and a cleaner silhouette.

The rear gets new LED tail lamps with Y-shaped elements inside. The tailgate design will also look fresh. The tyres on the car are rather slim- potentially an attempt to save on fuel spent. This generation could be the best-looking Dzire ever!

The cabin will have a tetra-tone colourway comprising Black, Beige, faux wood and Satin Silver. The compact sedan will likely get features like climate control, a new steering wheel, a sunroof, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen, traction control, rear AC vents, charging points, a wireless charger and an analogue instrument cluster with digital MID.

The car will be powered by the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z12E engine as the new Swift. It will generate 80 BHP and 112 Nm. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be offered. Maruti could also roll out a CNG version of the new Dzire in the future. The sedan will make its premiere on November 11.

New Honda Amaze

With the new Dzire launch around the corner, Honda will also bring the new Amaze to India soon. Bigger than the previous car, it will be based on a modified version of the City platform. The third-generation Amaze will likely launch in December this year. The manufacturer recently released a teaser image showing the possible front design of the upcoming Amaze. It will look a lot sharper and more aggressive. Expect strong body lines, sleek headlights, a sizeable front grille, LED DRLs and a more modern form.

On the inside, it will have a new dashboard layout and more features. Expect it to come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument gauge cluster, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Several spy shots have also surfaced online.

Mahindra BE 6e

Mahindra will launch two new electric vehicles on November 26, 2024, at the Mahindra Unlimit event in Chennai. One of these is the BE 6e. It is the production form of the BEV that was previously known as the BE.05. The manufacturer also released a couple of teasers before the unveiling. The production form will stand close to the BE.05 concept. The BE 6e will likely have a split headlamp setup, a closed-off grille, a new illuminated Mahindra logo, aero blade-style alloy wheels, sleek LED tail lamps, glass roof and a sloping roofline.

The cabin will have a fighter-jet-like layout. It will have a rotary dial, a plastic panel that divides the driver and co-passenger sides, sleek AC vents, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo.

The BE6e will be based on the INGLO platform. It will likely come with two battery packs- 60 kWh and 79 kWh units. The larger unit will offer a range of 450 km. Upon launch, the BE 6e will sit above the XUV400 in Mahindra’s EV portfolio. Key rivals will be the Tata Curvv.ev, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti Suzuki eVX.

XUV 9e

The next major showcase from Mahindra is the XUV 9e (previously called XUV.e9). It is an all-electric coupe based on the electric XUV 700 aka XUV.e8. It will have C-shaped LED DRLs and headlights, aero blade-style alloy wheels, a sloping roofline and flush-type door handles. The rear door handles will sit near the C pillar.

While details are sparse, the interior of this electric coupe will have a futuristic three-screen setup and a multitude of other features. It will have a tech-forward appeal. The INGLO architecture will underpin this EV as well. Not much is known about the deep details of the powertrain, at the moment.
