First and foremost, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the 7-seater version of its popular strong hybrid SUV, Grand Vitara, in India. The exact launch date for this model has not been revealed. However, it is believed that the company will be launching it in the first half of this year. Maruti Suzuki could be pricing it in the range of Rs 20-25 lakh.

As for the highlights, it could get a slightly redesigned rear end to differentiate it from the standard 5-seater model. Also, its wheelbase will be extended to accommodate the extra row of seats in the rear. In terms of powertrain, it is expected to come offered with the same 1.5-litre petrol, which comes paired with an electric motor. It could also get the smart hybrid K15C 1.5-litre motor as well.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is based on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, thanks to the strategic partnership between the brands. A new 7-seater version of the Hyryder is also expected to hit the Indian market after the launch of Maruti’s model. Toyota is expected to launch the Hyryder 7-seater by mid-2025.

Pricing will remain in the same range of Rs 20-25 lakh. However, cosmetically, the Hyryder 7-seater will look different. Powertrain-wise, this new model from Toyota will also be launched with the same 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine making 114 bhp. Transmission duties will be handled by an eCVT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift

Another major strong hybrid model launch scheduled for mid-2025 is the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift. The newest iteration of the already popular crossover SUV, Fronx, will be launched with a new Series Hybrid powertrain setup developed by Maruti Suzuki.

In this new setup, the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E petrol motor will not be powering the wheels. Instead, the engine will act as a generator, and it will charge the batteries. The wheels of the vehicle will then be propelled by an electric motor. It is believed that the fuel efficiency of this vehicle will be around 30 kmpl.

As for the exterior design of the Fronx facelift, it could get a redesigned front fascia, including new LED headlights, a new bumper, and a grille. It could also get new rear taillights and a new rear bumper. Other details of the vehicle are currently under wraps.

Kia Seltos Strong Hybrid

Kia Motors globally is looking to reduce its reliance on diesel motors, and for this reason, it is developing a new strong hybrid powertrain. As per the reports, the new generation Seltos will be the first model to get this powertrain, expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

The Kia Seltos hybrid is expected to get a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which will come paired with an electric motor. It is believed the strong hybrid powertrain could generate 141 bhp and 265 Nm of torque. It could also get a 6-speed DCT gearbox, and its estimated fuel efficiency will be around 18.1-19.8 kmpl. Design-wise, as well, the new generation Seltos will boast a ton of changes.
