Fortuner Legender Selling At Rs. 2 Lakh Discount, More Toyota Discounts Inside

Toyota and its products enjoy high acceptance and reputation in the Indian market. Preparing for the fast-approaching festive season, the manufacturer has announced substantial discounts and benefits on popular monikers such as the Fortuner. The price cuts this time are massive, and apply to the Hilux, Fortuner, Glanza, Hyryder and Taisor. Interestingly, it is the Hilux that had the biggest price drop. Let us delve into the details of these.
The Glanza is the Toyota version of Maruti Baleno and is a popular choice among hatchback buyers. It has lately been finding a place in the fleet segment as well, with the recently introduced CNG option. Toyota Glanza gets festive discounts and benefits of up to Rs 68,000. There are, however, no benefits offered on CNG variants.
The Taisor, a crossover based on the Glanza (in other words, a badge-engineered Fronx), is Toyota’s newest launch in the Indian market. It can be had with petrol and turbocharged petrol engines. The naturally aspirated (NA) petrol powertrain is identical to the one in Glanza. The Taisor Turbo now offers savings of up to Rs 65,000. The 1.2 NA petrol variants, however, get significantly smaller cuts. Also, it is the Taisor that gets the smallest discounts this festive season.
The Hyryder is Toyota’s much-talked-about Creta rival. It is available in petrol, petrol hybrid and petrol-CNG powertrain choices and drives decent sales numbers. It also has lower waiting times and offers more peace of ownership than the Maruti Grand Vitara- its JV twin. The Hyryder gets price cuts of up to Rs 75,000 in most cities. However, some dealers are also offering even more attractive cuts on its higher variants.
In a rather unusual instance, Toyota Fortuner is also seeing drool-worthy cuts and benefits this time. Some dealers offer discounts of up to 1- 1.5 lakh on the highly sought-after SUV. Higher variants and the Legender in particular, get benefits of up to 2 lakh. However, the range-topping, made-to-order Fortuner GR Sport is exempted from getting any cuts.
Toyota Hilux is offered with discounts of up to 5 lakh in most cities. The Hilux is quite popular among the off-roading community and is quite a good pickup to live with. However, its price in India, is slightly on the expensive side, and the same has had its impact on sales as well. With 5 lakhs shaved off its price, the Hilux will surely get a better and more desirable value proposition.
The Innova Crysta and Hycross are both hotcakes in terms of sales. There are no discounts offered on these vehicles, and they continue to sell for the regular prices.
These discounts and benefits are expected to boost Toyota sales during the festive season. These have also given the cars, especially the expensive ones, a better value proposition as well. However, it is important to note that these discounts and numbers could vary from city to city and with stock availability. The best practice thus is to check with your nearest Toyota dealer for more accurate figures.
Most automakers in India have recently been rolling out attractive discounts and benefits on their models, and the recent unsold stock spikes have a lot to do with it. According to FADA, unsold inventory has been on a steady rise recently, in India. This is a huge burden on dealers and multiple automotive manufacturers are devising methods to clear the stockpiles. The festive season is looked upon by manufacturers as an opportunity for a strong recovery.
