Toyota Rumion MPV’s Festival Edition Launched

Toyota and Maruti Suzuki share many of their models and technologies as part of their ongoing partnership globally. Toyota sells several rebadged Maruti products in India and around the world. One of the latest rebadged Maruti vehicle to get added into Toyota line up was the Rumion. For those who don’t know, Toyota Rumion is actually a badge engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV. Now, Toyota has announced the launch of the Festival Edition version of the Rumion MPV in the market.
The Festival Edition as the name suggests is a limited edition version which will be offered to the customer during this festive season. As part of the package, Toyota is also offering a Rs 20,608 worth complementary accessory package. Coming to the changes, Toyota is offering the Rumion Festival Edition with black door garnish, mud flaps, bumper garnish, headlamp garnish, number plate garnish, chrome door visors, roof edge spoiler, body side moulding and carpet mat.
In fact, the Festival Edition version of the Rumion is nothing but an accessorised version of the regular Rumion. The SUV has been launched in the market and would be available across all Toyota dealerships in the country till October 31st, 2024. Toyota is offering the Rumion Festival Edition in S MT, S AT, G MT, V MT, V AT and S MT CNG variants.
As mentioned above, Rumion is a rebadged version of the popular Maruti Ertiga MPV. It is a popular in both private and commercial segment buyers. Many people consider Ertiga as a value for money product due it is three row seating, decent features and affordable pricing.
Coming back to Rumion, Toyota made minor cosmetic changes to the front of the MPV to give it a Toyota like identity. The front grille looks like a scaled down version of the one seen on Innova Crysta. Similarly, the bumper and lower air dam design also gets minor changes. Other than this it gets Toyota logo and badges onthe wheels and all around the car.
Mechanically, both Rumion and Ertiga are the same. They are both powered by the same 1.5 litre, four cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is 101 Bhp and 136 Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with both 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option. Price for Rumion starts at Rs 10.44 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 13.73 lakh, ex-showroom.
Many people are buying Toyota Rumion over the Maruti Ertiga lately because Toyota is offering a longer warranty than Maruti Suzuki. From customer point of view, it feels like a good option especially for those who buying this car for commercial use. Toyota is offering 3 years or 1,00,000 km warranty on Rumion. This warranty can be extended by the customer as per his requirements.
Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have been working on several new projects for our market and one of the upcoming products is Maruti eVX SUV. It is a Grand Vitara Sized electric SUV which is expected to hit Indian market next year.
The SUV is jointly developed by both brands and Toyota’s version of the Maruti eVX will be launched in the market after eVX’s launch. Toyota is also offering dealership level customisations to customers on their Fortuner and Hyryder SUVs.
