Toyota Taisor 1.0 Turbo Petrol Automatic Driven [Video]

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is the most recent offering by the brand under the Maruti Toyota partnership. This coupe SUV is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, sold via Nexa outlets. In contrast to the Fronx, the Taisor offers some cosmetic changes. Today, we will talk about these changes and the walkaround of the Toyota Taisor via a YouTube video uploaded by Fuel Injected.
The video starts with the pricing of the car. The base variant of the Taisor costs Rs. 7.74 lakhs ex-showroom while the top end variant costs Rs. 13.04 lakhs ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Fronx is priced at Rs. 7.51 lakhs to Rs. 13.04 lakhs ex-showroom. The car shown in the video is the V Turbo AT variant of the Taisor which costs Rs. 12.88 lakhs.
The overall design of both the cars is the same. The host talks about the differences in the front profile first. The DRLs of the Taisor are different from that of the Fronx. The grille is finished in gloss black along with a minimal chrome line. The car features a 360 degree camera setup and LED headlights in the front.
Regarding the side profile, the car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels which are different from the Fronx. The car features a thick body cladding to give it a more SUV like appearance. Features in the side profile include roof rails, ORVMs with integrated turn signals, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs and keyless entry.
The Toyota Taisor and Maruti Fronx come with a unique sloping roofline design which no other car offers in this segment. Talking about the design changes in the rear, the host adds that the taillights of the Taisor are different from the Fronx.
The Taisor offers all the necessary features such as rear wiper with washer, defogger, high mount stop lamp, shark fin atenna, connect LED taillights, reverse parking camera with sensors and much more.
Now, let’s talk about the cabin. The Taisor and Fronx both feature a dual tone cabin finished in brown and black. The interior of the car features UV cut glasses, push button start, rear AC vents, steering mounted multimedia controls, cruise control, 9-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity, front armrest, heads up display and much more. The host adds that the cabin of the Fronx and Taisor is exactly the same.
Engine and transmission options are same in both the cars. The engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four cylinder petrol engine which produces 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
The second engine option is a much powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol three cylinder engine which delivers 100 PS of power and 148 Nm of torque. This engine can be opted with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Toyota also offers the Taisor with the options of a CNG powertrain which has power figures of 77 PS and 98.5 Nm.
