3 New Toyota Cars To Watch Out For

Toyota Kirloskar Motor India, together with its strategic partner Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has seen a lot of growth in terms of sales in the country. A lot of this success can be attributed to the badge-engineered models that Toyota sells at its dealerships. Now, based on the new upcoming Maruti Suzuki models, Toyota is gearing up for the launch of three new models that will surely add to the sales of the brand. So without any delay, here are the details of these upcoming models.
Maruti Suzuki recently unveiled its newest SUV in the lineup, and it is called the Victoris. Based on this mid-size SUV model, Toyota will also be launching a new model that will slot between the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Urban Cruiser Taisor. This SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and others.
On the outside, Toyota's version of the Victoris will have a different design. However, what will be common are the LED headlights, DRLs, and taillights. It will also get aero vents and 17-inch aero alloy wheels. As for the interior, we can expect dual-tone upholstery, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster.
Other notable highlights will include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver seat, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, and many others. Powertrain options will likely include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid. It could also get ADAS Level 2 with features such as auto emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and others. Higher trims could get an AWD system as well.
Another badge-engineered model on the cards from Toyota is the Urban Cruiser Electric. This particular EV SUV will be based on the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. It was recently showcased at the GIIAS 2025 in Indonesia. Dimensionally, it will be 4,285 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,640 mm tall. As for the wheelbase, it will be around 2,700 mm.
The Urban Cruiser Electric boasts a “Hammerhead” style front design. It will come with a closed-off black grille, LED headlights and DRLs, 18-inch aero blade-style alloy wheels, and LED taillights. On the inside, it will feature brown-and-black leather and fabric upholstery, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch full digital instrument gauge cluster.
As for the powertrains, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will have two battery pack options. The first will be a 49 kWh pack, and the second will be a 61 kWh battery pack. The 49 kWh battery pack model will come with 144 bhp and 189 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, there will also be a 174 bhp and 189 Nm torque variant. Lastly, the company will be offering a dual-motor AWD variant with 184 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. The range on the top-of-the-line model is expected to be around 500 km.
Last but not least, to expand its hybrid offerings in India, Toyota is planning to launch the Fronx Series Hybrid-based Urban Cruiser Taisor Series Hybrid in India. This model’s main highlight will be Maruti Suzuki's Z12E-based 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. In the series hybrid setup, it will act as a generator for the electric motors.
The electric motors will then drive the wheels. Currently, in a normal strong-hybrid setup, the battery pack and electric motor act as a supplementary power source. However, in the series hybrid, the electric motors will power the wheels, and the battery packs will be charged using the ICE motor. We can also expect it to look slightly different from the Taisor that is currently on sale.
