Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Edition Launched In India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Edition, a limited-run styling package that enhances the visual appeal of its popular midsize SUV through an exclusive aerodynamic body kit.
The package, priced at 31,999 rupees over the standard model, includes a front spoiler, rear spoiler and side skirts designed to give the Hyryder a more aggressive, performance-oriented appearance whilst maintaining its premium aesthetic.
The Aero Edition represents a dealer-fitted accessory package rather than a new variant, allowing buyers to personalise their Hyryder with sporty touches whilst retaining the core drivetrain, features and driving experience they selected. The package is available across all Hyryder grades, from the base E variant through to the top-spec V, giving customers flexibility regardless of which powertrain or trim level they choose.
The front spoiler adds a sharper, more assertive look to the SUV's front fascia, building on the existing crystal acrylic grille and twin LED daytime running lights.
The sculpted rear spoiler enhances both aerodynamics and visual sportiness, whilst the side skirts create flowing lines that give the Hyryder a more planted, low-slung profile. These additions are designed to amplify the vehicle's premium and performance-inspired character without overwhelming its refined styling.
The Aero Edition is offered in four colour options: white, silver, black and red, allowing customers to match the body kit with exterior shades that complement the sporty aesthetic.
These colours represent a subset of the seven monotone colours typically available on the standard Hyryder, with the selection focused on shades that best showcase the aerodynamic enhancements.
Since its launch in 2022, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder has rapidly gained popularity, recently surpassing the 168,000-unit sales milestone. The SUV has established itself as a strong performer in the competitive midsize SUV segment through its combination of advanced technology, hybrid efficiency and feature-rich variants. The introduction of the Aero Edition builds on this success by offering existing and prospective buyers an additional layer of personalisation.
The Hyryder continues to be offered with two distinct powertrain options. The self-charging strong hybrid electric system pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and e-drive transmission, capable of running 40 per cent of the distance and 60 per cent of the time on electric power alone with the engine shut off. This configuration delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 kilometres per litre, making it one of the most efficient SUVs in its segment.
The Neo Drive variant features a 1.5-litre K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, this powertrain is offered with both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, catering to buyers seeking off-road capability or enhanced traction in challenging conditions. A CNG version is also available for buyers prioritising ultra-low running costs.
Inside, the Hyryder offers a comprehensive feature set that includes ventilated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents and reclining rear seats with 60:40 split functionality. The cabin design emphasises comfort and connectivity, appealing to families and technology-focused buyers.
The Hyryder's signature exterior design elements include LED projector headlamps with twin LED daytime running lights, the crystal acrylic front grille with chrome garnish, 17-inch alloy wheels on higher variants and dual-tone colour options that add visual interest. The Aero Edition's body kit complements these existing design features, creating a more cohesive and dynamic appearance.
Toyota offers 66 official accessories for the Hyryder beyond the Aero Edition package, allowing buyers to customise their vehicles according to individual preferences and usage patterns. The company backs the Hyryder with a three-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty that is extendable to five years or 220,000 kilometres. The hybrid battery receives an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty, providing long-term confidence to buyers concerned about battery longevity and replacement costs.
The Hyryder range is currently priced from 10.94 lakh rupees ex-showroom, making it competitively positioned against rivals including the Maruti Grand Vitara, with which it shares its platform, as well as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt. The addition of the Aero Edition provides Toyota with an additional differentiation point in this crowded segment.
