2025 could witness much action from Mahindra as the carmaker has several interesting launches in plans. Even while it intends to stay the country’s largest SUV maker, Mahindra will have a strong focus on electric vehicles. The planned launches include both ICE and EV models. Here are the top 5 Mahindra launches to watch out for, next year:

XUV.e8 (XUV 700 EV)

A key electric SUV launch for the manufacturer would be the XUV.e8- an EV-based on the XUV 700. Mahindra showcased the production version last year. Earlier this year, patent leaks had also gone viral. The design borrows several key cues from that of the XUV 700. Key highlights include a bonnet-wide DRL with headlamps that sit on the bumper, a completely new bumper design and a closed-off EV grille.

The side profile will stand close to the XUV 700 in design. There will however, be new EV-spec wheels and low resistance tyres. Like the 700, the e8 will also feature flush-type door handles. Minor changes are expected at the rear as well. No available picture has yet revealed the rear design cues.

On the inside, the e8 will have a massive triple screen setup, as was revealed in a previous set of spy pictures. Other expected features include a HUD with augmented reality, advanced connected car features, level 2 ADAS, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated seats. The cabin will use premium soft-touch materials and trims. There will be a frunk for additional storage needs.

The e8 will be underpinned by Mahindra’s newly developed Born-Electric architecture- INGLO. It will likely offer two battery choices- 60 and 80 kWh. The Valeo-sourced electric motor will sit on the rear axis. The expected powertrain output could be 228 bhp and 380 Nm. WLTP range could be around 450 km. The e8 is expected to debut in December 2024, with sales commencing in 2025.

Thar Roxx Petrol 4×4

Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently available with both petrol and diesel powertrains. The diesel version is powered by a 2.2L diesel engine while the petrol gets a 2.0L turbocharged petrol mill. The SUV also offers 4WD. However, currently, it is just the diesel variants that get 4WD tech. Mahindra is expected to launch the Roxx petrol 4×4 sometime in 2025. Details are sparse as we speak.

XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra is known to be working on an EV based on the XUV 3XO. Unlike the XUV400, this EV will have the same dimensions as its ICE counterpart. It will get several EV-spec design cues. Likely to co-exist with the XUV 400 ( in fact, sitting below it), this EV will have a 34.5kWh battery pack. The vehicle is internally codenamed S240. The vehicle will come with almost all the features that are offered on the standard 3XO. Upon its launch early next year, expect the price to be quite competitive.

XUV700 Facelift

A facelift to the popular XUV 700 is also in the pipeline. It will have significant improvements over the outgoing model. It will embody Mahindra’s latest design philosophy. The headlamp cluster and DRLs will be all new and so will be the grille and front bumpers. The side profile is expected remain largely unchanged. The tailgate and tail lamps will also be reworked.

The facelift’s cabin will get substantial changes. It will have a new steering wheel design, a slightly refreshed dashboard, and more features. The facelift could borrow bits of its exterior and interior from the e8.

BE.05

This electric SUV is a looker. It is one of the most anticipated EV launches from the Indian giant. The news has it that Mahindra could likely launch the BE.05 in January 2025. The production-spec will stand close to the concept in terms of its design. In dimensions, it will be comparable to the upcoming EVX. The BE.05 gets a radical design. Underpinned by the INGLO platform, the SUV will have both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions to it.

The entry-spec variant could offer 231 bhp and 380 Nm. However, sources say that the BE05 could also get a more powerful version that can produce 286 bhp and 535 Nm. The BE.05 will be the fastest SUV Mahindra has ever made. The AWD version will be able to do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 5 seconds. Two battery packs might be available: 60 kWh and 79 kWh. Some reports also say that the EV could offer an 82 kWh unit as well. We have talked in detail about the BE.05 in a previous story.
